President Luong Cuong, along with overseas Vietnamese delegates, offered incense at the Ly Thai To Monument and Ngoc Son Temple.
On the morning of February 8th (the 21st day of the 12th lunar month, Year of the Snake), President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with representatives from the Government, the National Assembly, central ministries and departments, the City of Hanoi, and 100 exemplary overseas Vietnamese delegates, performed the incense offering ceremony at the statue of King Ly Thai To and Ngoc Son Temple.
This activity is part of the "Spring in the Homeland 2026" program, organized annually by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee. It contributes to spreading the message of national unity, in which the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part, always accompanying the Fatherland; at the same time, it continues to clearly demonstrate the affection and responsibility of the Party and State in caring for the overseas Vietnamese community, promoting patriotism, a connection to their roots, encouraging overseas Vietnamese to preserve the cultural identity, traditions, and language of the nation; spreading confidence and inspiring the aspiration to contribute to the sustainable development of the country in the new era.
The President and his wife, along with delegates and overseas Vietnamese, respectfully offered incense to commemorate the merits of King Ly Thai To and the ancestors who built and protected Thang Long-Hanoi, a city with a thousand years of cultural heritage, preserving the heroic land of Vietnam, and nurturing invaluable cultural and historical values for the capital and the country to endure forever. They also expressed their heartfelt prayers for national peace and prosperity, for the country to confidently enter a new era of development with even more breakthroughs for peace, independence, democracy, wealth, prosperity, civilization, and happiness. Furthermore, they respectfully informed their ancestors about the return of overseas Vietnamese from all over the world to their homeland.

Following this, the President and his wife, along with overseas Vietnamese delegates, participated in the activity of releasing carp into Hoan Kiem Lake. The event took place just days before the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month, a long-standing Vietnamese tradition of bidding farewell to the Kitchen God and the Stove God, symbolizing "carp leaping over the Dragon Gate to transform into a dragon," representing perseverance and resilience towards development and success.
In a warm and joyful atmosphere celebrating the Party and the New Year, President Luong Cuong and his wife shared with overseas Vietnamese about their work and lives; thanked the Vietnamese community around the world for their unwavering devotion to their homeland; and wished everyone a prosperous, successful, and healthy new year.

Earlier, a delegation of exemplary overseas Vietnamese visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and laid wreaths at the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street, Hanoi.
According to the program, on the evening of the same day, President Luong Cuong will extend New Year greetings to overseas Vietnamese and beat the ceremonial drum to inaugurate the Spring Festival at the "Spring in the Homeland 2026" art exchange program at the National Convention Center for all overseas Vietnamese attending.

The "Spring in the Homeland 2026" program, themed "Vietnam's Aspiration: Peace and Prosperity," took place from February 6-9 (corresponding to the 19th-22nd day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake), in Hanoi and connected with Ninh Binh, with the participation of approximately 1,500 overseas Vietnamese.
This is an important cultural and political event, attracting special attention from the Vietnamese community abroad and always eagerly awaited by overseas Vietnamese every time Tet (Lunar New Year) comes around.

The program takes place in the context of the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Party, opening a new phase of development with a proactive, confident mindset and aspiration for national progress.
