Having been involved in journalism since 1947, he always remembers that pen and paper are weapons, and journalists are fighters on the ideological front. Writing for the newspaper is writing for the people, for the Fatherland. That is the spirit that President Ho Chi Minh passed down, and we pledge to follow it throughout our lives. Even at the age of 96, he still retains his love for the profession and his faith in today's young generation of journalists.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Ky - former member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, former Director General of the Voice of Vietnam Radio, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Head of the Literary and Artistic Criticism Committee - expressed his honor and emotion at being honored in an event of special significance for those in the profession.

He shared his journey in journalism, from his early years at the Vietnam Youth Committee, then to Nghe Tinh Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and central agencies.

According to journalist Nguyen The Ky, the greatest lesson journalists need to learn from President Ho Chi Minh is his journalistic style, starting from the smallest details. He wrote in a way that the people understood, believed, and followed. He was not only the founder of revolutionary journalism in Vietnam but also a model journalist, from the press.Le PariaarriveAdolescentBoth thought and action are consistent.

Emphasizing that "journalism is politics, culture, and revolution," he argued that the pen must serve the country, the people, and fight for the truth. In the context of modern journalism with its many new platforms and technologies, political integrity and professional ethics become even more crucial.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Ky expressed his confidence in today's generation of young journalists, noting that despite rapidly changing technology, they still maintain their love for the profession, patriotism, and a desire to contribute. He believes this is the most important thing for continuing the tradition of revolutionary journalism. He also paid tribute to the older generation, the teachers and lecturers who have silently trained and inspired generations of journalists.

Loyal to the revolutionary ideals of the Party, to the cause and aspirations of the nation, and closely connected with the people.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong extended his warmest greetings, sincere regards, and best wishes to the journalists present at the program and, through them, to all journalists nationwide. He wished all journalists good health, happiness, abundant creativity, and many new successes in their noble profession.

On this meaningful occasion, the President expressed his deep respect, remembrance, and gratitude to more than 500 journalist-soldiers and martyrs who dedicated and sacrificed themselves for the glorious revolutionary cause of the nation; and extended his profound gratitude to thousands of deceased journalists who left behind many valuable journalistic works, contributing to the richness of the revolutionary press in our country.

"In particular, we respectfully remember and are grateful for the immense contributions of our beloved Uncle Ho - journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc - the great President Ho Chi Minh, the founder of revolutionary journalism in Vietnam," the President emphasized.

The country is transforming and entering a new era, with a burning aspiration for development, prosperity, and happiness. This context places a very heavy burden on Vietnamese journalism and journalists, with increasingly high demands, so that the press is not only a companion but also a pioneer, a predictor of the movement and development of life.

During the cordial and warm meeting, President Luong Cuong discussed several issues. First and foremost, Vietnamese journalists today and in the future need to study, train, and strive to follow President Ho Chi Minh's advice: "Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. The pen and paper are their sharp weapons." This is the most fundamental lesson regarding the role, qualities, and ethics of Vietnamese journalists.

As revolutionary fighters – as President Ho Chi Minh advised – the President emphasized that Vietnamese journalists need to maintain their political integrity, professional ethics, heart, vision, and talent; keep the flame of passion for the profession burning, remain loyal to the revolutionary ideals of the Party, to the cause and aspirations of the nation, and maintain close ties with the people; this is the highest requirement.

Journalism is developing in a new context, in which science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation have become strategic pillars, leading our country into an era of breakthrough development.

Against this backdrop, the President emphasized the need for the press to grasp this inevitable development trend, resolutely and urgently renew itself comprehensively, synchronously, and in accordance with the specific laws of journalism, in order to create journalistic products that reflect the spirit of the times, possessing creativity and new explorations in content and methods of expression.
