President Luong Cuong is expected to hold high-level talks with President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço; meet with Speaker of the National Assembly Carolina Cerqueira; work with leaders of the Angolan People's Liberation Movement Party; meet with the Vietnamese community in Angola; and attend the ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In particular, the President will deliver an important speech to the Angolan Parliament, conveying a policy message about a Vietnam that desires to make a greater contribution to world politics, the global economy, and human civilization.

Vietnam was one of the first countries to recognize Angola's independence.

Angola currently holds the chairmanship of the African Union (AU), comprising 54 member states, and is a significant force at the United Nations and other multilateral forums. The President's visit also coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Angola (1975-2025).

Over the years, bilateral trade turnover has been at the level of 150-200 million USD annually, but this is still modest compared to the potential of the two countries. In particular, sectors such as oil and gas, telecommunications, agriculture, healthcare, and vocational training are areas of great interest to Angola, and Vietnam has rich practical experience in these fields.

The Vietnamese business community in Angola has been playing an important bridging role in promoting economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Vietnam currently has the largest Vietnamese community in Angola and also the largest Vietnamese community in Africa, with nearly 8,000 people living and working there, mainly concentrated in the capital Luanda and surrounding provinces.
