The President urged every official and Party member to uphold the pioneering spirit, cultivate political and moral qualities, and fight against vested interests.

In anticipation of the 87th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2017) and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Party Committee of the Central Business Bloc, on the afternoon of January 4, at the Presidential Palace, President Tran Dai Quang met with 60 delegates who are exemplary Party Branch Secretaries of the Party Committee of the Central Business Bloc.

The President urged every official and Party member, especially the heads of Party committees, agencies, and units within the Party organization, to uphold the spirit of pioneering and exemplary conduct, constantly study and cultivate political qualities, ethics, and lifestyle, and resolutely fight against opportunistic elements, vested interests, and negative manifestations within the Party.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Tran Dai Quang warmly congratulated and commended the achievements of the Party Committee of the Central Business Bloc, the Party Committees of corporations, general companies, banks, and units within the Central Business Bloc, especially the grassroots Party organizations, Party branches, and outstanding Party branch secretaries who have just been honored by the Party Committee of the Central Business Bloc.

The President stated that our country is facing a mix of opportunities, advantages, difficulties, and challenges. If we make good use of the opportunities and overcome the challenges, Vietnam will be able to narrow the development gap with advanced countries.

The President requested that the Party Committee of the Central Business Bloc, and the Party Committees, grassroots Party organizations, and Party Branches under the Central Business Bloc Party Committee, continue to thoroughly understand and effectively implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and the Resolutions of the 4th Plenum of the 12th Central Committee of the Party on major policies and guidelines aimed at continuing to innovate the growth model, improve the quality of growth, labor productivity, and competitiveness of the economy; and on strengthening Party building and rectification, preventing and repelling the decline in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, and the manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party, in conjunction with the widespread, regular, serious, and effective implementation of Directive 05 of the Politburo on "Promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style."

"Comrades, you must strengthen the leadership role of Party organizations and branches, focusing on more decisive leadership and direction to effectively implement the enterprise restructuring task according to the plan approved by competent authorities at all levels. This includes paying attention to resolving issues related to personnel and the workforce; finding solutions to overcome difficulties, developing production, and actively applying scientific and technological advancements to improve labor productivity, product quality, and business efficiency," President Tran Dai Quang requested.

The President expressed his wish that corporations, general companies, banks, and units under the Central State-owned Enterprise Bloc would continue to strive and clearly demonstrate their role as the core force of the state economy, making important contributions to building a socialist-oriented market economy with diverse ownership forms and economic sectors, in which the state economy plays a leading role, and the private economy is an important driving force; and that entities belonging to all economic sectors are equal, cooperate, and compete according to the law.
