The President of Vietnam presented appointment decisions to 16 Vietnamese Ambassadors to foreign countries.
President Luong Cuong presented appointment decisions to 16 Vietnamese Ambassadors to foreign countries for the term 2025-2028.
The event took place on the afternoon of January 16th. On behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong congratulated the newly appointed ambassadors and heads of representative offices in various countries. This is a recognition and high appreciation of the efforts and dedication of the ambassadors during their work, and also a glorious honor and responsibility entrusted to them by the Party, State, and people.
The newly appointed ambassadors will take up positions in various locations, but all hold important roles that benefit the country. The President expressed confidence that, as professional diplomats with high moral character, intelligence, experience, and expertise, the ambassadors will fulfill their responsibilities well.
During the 13th National Congress term, foreign affairs achieved many great and historically significant accomplishments, contributing to the continuous enhancement of the country's foundation, position, prestige, and potential.

The President requested that ambassadors and heads of representative offices remain steadfast in the foreign policy of the Party and the State; update and closely follow the goals, requirements, and tasks of national development, the foreign policy priorities set forth in the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, as well as the directives of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In this context, ambassadors and heads of representative offices need to ensure that foreign relations are closely coordinated with national defense and security, forming a solid "three-legged stool" to serve the strategy of protecting the Fatherland "early and from afar" and developing the country; they must have a firm grasp of the situation to advise and propose to the Party and State the issuance and updating of foreign policy guidelines and solutions, ensuring the highest national interests.
The President emphasized the need to effectively implement diplomacy to serve economic development, making a practical contribution to realizing the double-digit growth target in the next term.
Depending on the specific location, each ambassador needs to leverage strengths and unique characteristics, and capitalize on resources for national development; prioritizing the promotion of seeking and connecting cooperation in key areas such as science and technology, strategic infrastructure, and advanced human resources.
The President urged ambassadors and heads of representative offices to do a good job in community work, especially uniting and gathering the Vietnamese community abroad and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens and businesses in their host countries; and at the same time, further develop the human and financial resources of the Vietnamese community abroad, especially intellectuals, experts, scientists, and entrepreneurs.
In their role as representatives of Vietnam abroad, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions will contribute to spreading and promoting the image of Vietnam, its culture, and its people; effectively fulfilling their leadership role, fostering unity and cohesion among staff members within the diplomatic mission and from various other forces into a strong collective for the common good.
