The visit by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan is the first official visit to China by a Vietnamese Party and State leader since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

According to the VNA special correspondent, at noon on July 8 (local time), Politburo member and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and a high-level delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly arrived at Lukou Airport in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, beginning an official visit to China from July 8-12 at the invitation of Li Zhanshu, member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (Chairman of the National People's Congress - Speaker of the Parliament).
Welcoming National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and her delegation at Lukou Airport were Jiang Xiaoquan, Vice Chairperson of the Social Construction Committee of the National People's Congress of China; Wei Guoqiang, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress; and Si Jinquan, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress.
On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi, Vietnamese Consul General in Shanghai Ninh Thanh Cong, several officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in China, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Shanghai, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Jiangsu province...
The visit by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan is the first official visit to China by a Vietnamese Party and State leader since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and also the first visit to China by Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan in her capacity as Chairwoman of the National Assembly.
The visit is of great significance in maintaining high-level exchanges between the two Parties and States, contributing to consolidating and strengthening political trust and developing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.
The visit of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan focused on discussing measures to continue effectively implementing the cooperation agreement signed in 2015 between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China; strengthening exchanges of delegations at the leadership level of the National Assembly, committees, specialized agencies, and friendship parliamentary groups of the two countries' National Assemblies; exchanging and sharing professional experience in the field of lawmaking; and coordinating in the supervision of cooperation agreements signed between the two countries.
