The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province extends New Year greetings to the leaders of the Central Inspection Committee and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos.
Continuing their working visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on the morning of April 5th, in Vientiane, the Nghe An provincial delegation, led by Mr. Vo Trong Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and extended New Year greetings to the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee and the Minister of Public Security of Laos on the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year.
The delegation included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Ho Le Ngoc - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Pham Hong Quang - Director of the Department of Construction; Hoang Quoc Viet - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; and Phan Duc Dong - Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Truong Vinh ward.
Accompanying them were members of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office and a number of departments and agencies.

Visiting and extending New Year greetings to Comrade Vanthong Kongmani - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Minister of Public Security of Laos, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao Public Security Force, on behalf of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Nghe An province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai sent the best wishes to General Vanthong Kongmani and all officers and soldiers of the Lao Public Security Force.

Comrade Vo Trong Hai emphasized that Nghe An always attaches great importance and gives top priority to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with Lao partners, especially establishing a peaceful and stable border through political trust and close coordination between functional forces to combat crime, especially drug trafficking and high-tech crime.
Regarding the cooperation between Nghe An province and localities in Laos, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province stated that the province currently has friendly relations with eight localities in Laos, especially three provinces sharing a common border. Coordination between the functional forces of both sides is always maintained closely, contributing to maintaining political stability and creating favorable conditions for the people in the border region to develop their economy.

Affirming that developing border gate infrastructure is a strategic solution to harmoniously combine the goals of strengthening security management and promoting sustainable economic trade, the leaders of Nghe An province proposed strengthening border security cooperation and upgrading border gates, focusing on the implementation of the Vientiane - Hanoi Expressway Project, in order to build a sustainable cooperation foundation and contribute to promoting the common prosperity of both countries.
In addition, the leaders of Nghe An province also hope that the Lao Ministry of Public Security will promote the implementation of the Vientiane-Hanoi Expressway Project, which passes through this border gate. This is an important project that will create a breakthrough in connecting transportation, trade, and investment between the two countries, directly benefiting the border provinces.

General Vanthong Kongmani, Minister of Public Security of Laos, expressed his joy in welcoming the delegation from Nghe An province during the first days of the Bunpimay New Year.
Highly appreciating Nghe An's positive contributions in supporting Lao provinces in recent times, the Lao Minister of Public Security affirmed that he will continue to direct relevant agencies to closely coordinate and support the province's proposals to realize key transportation infrastructure and border gate projects, contributing to further deepening the great friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Looking ahead, the Lao Minister of Public Security hopes that cooperation between Nghe An province and localities in Laos will continue to be enhanced and developed in depth in all aspects, especially in the fields of transportation and energy.

General Vanthong Kongmani suggested that Nghe An continue to cooperate, exchange, and share experiences in improving the capacity of commune-level police forces in Laos; strengthen information sharing and closely coordinate in ensuring security and defense, preventing and combating smuggling, drug-related crimes, and high-tech fraud.
During his visit to extend New Year greetings for the traditional Bunpimay festival, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee conveyed warm wishes to Comrade Van-xay Phong-sa-van - Member of the Political Bureau and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee of Laos.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province also updated on outstanding socio-economic achievements, especially the breakthrough in attracting foreign investment and developing key transportation infrastructure in the province in recent years. At the same time, he proposed solutions to promote strategic cooperation, including upgrading border gates and implementing a highway connecting Vientiane and Hanoi to strengthen sustainable trade connections.

Expressing gratitude for the sincere and close relationship, Comrade Vansay Phongsavanh, Member of the Political Bureau and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee of Laos, emphasized the need to strengthen strategic cooperation between localities of Vietnam and Laos in many key areas.
The Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee of Laos proposed that both sides continue to realize their commitments through specific projects, especially efforts to upgrade border infrastructure and address the issue of fuel supply to boost the economy; share management experiences, strengthen political trust, and build a common vision for sustainable development in the region. Through this, Comrade Vansay Phongsavanh, Member of the Politburo and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee of Laos, expects to create breakthroughs in cross-border trade and ensure national security and defense in the coming period.
