The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An Province visits the Truong Son Wind Power Plant Complex in Laos.
On April 4th, as part of their visit to Laos to celebrate the Bunpimay New Year, the Nghe An provincial delegation, led by Mr. Vo Trong Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited the office of the Truong Son Wind Power Plant Cluster in Kham Khet district, Bolikhamsai province.
The delegation included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Ho Le Ngoc - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Pham Hong Quang - Director of the Department of Construction; Hoang Quoc Viet - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; and Phan Duc Dong - Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Truong Vinh ward.
Accompanying them were members of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office and a number of departments and agencies.
The Truong Son Wind Power Plant complex is located on the Truong Son mountain range in Kham Khet district, Bolikhamsai province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, with a total capacity of 600MW and a total investment of up to 1 billion USD.
This is a historic project as it marks the first time a private enterprise has invested in transmission infrastructure to import electricity into Vietnam, helping to alleviate energy shortages in the northern region.
The project also symbolizes the strong and friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries, promoting security and economic development in the border region.
The project is highly regarded for its sustainable development model, prioritizing environmental protection and investing heavily in social welfare for the local community.
During their visit to the Truong Son Wind Power Plant Complex Office of Vietnam-Laos Energy Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, the delegation received a report on the project's progress.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai highly appreciated the efforts of the staff, engineers, and workers at the construction site who overcame difficulties related to terrain and weather to ensure the operational progress.
The project's implementation is not only economically significant but also contributes to ensuring energy security and creating jobs for local workers in Kham Khet district.
To promptly encourage and acknowledge the contributions to strengthening economic cooperation between the two sides, Comrade Vo Trong Hai personally presented the Certificate of Commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to the collective of Vietnam-Laos Energy Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.
Mr. Le Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam-Laos Energy Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, was also honored to receive a Certificate of Commendation from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province for his outstanding achievements in investing in and constructing projects connecting energy and cross-border transportation between Vietnam and Laos, contributing to building friendly relations between Nghe An province and Bolikhamsai province.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Vo Trong Hai, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that Nghe An always pays attention to and creates the most favorable conditions for businesses to cooperate and invest in Laos, considering this an important political task in consolidating the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
