Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai visited and encouraged officers and soldiers of the Command of Defense Zone 4 - Tuong Duong, Nghe An.
On the evening of November 28th, Comrade Vo Trong Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited the Regional Defense Command 4 - Tuong Duong.

Also attending were: Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Pham Hong Quang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Construction; Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and leaders of Tuong Duong commune.
The Command Board of Zone 4 - Tuong Duong manages an area of 6,587 km², mainly consisting of forests and mountains, with many ravines and streams, rugged terrain, and extremely difficult transportation.

The area shares a border with three provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic: Bolikhamsai, Xieng Khouang, and Hua Phan, with a total length of over 332 km, including more than 220 km on land and more than 111 km along rivers and streams.
The border area includes two border gates: the Nam Can International Border Gate and the Tam Hop sub-border gate, along with many complex inter-communal roads.

This area holds particularly important strategic significance in the province's regional defense posture. It is also home to nine ethnic groups: Kinh, Thai, Khơ Mú, Mông, Ơ Đu, Tày Poọng, Đan Lai, Hoa, Mường, and Nùng; comprising 27 communes, including 13 border communes.
The permanent forces stationed in the area include the 4th Economic-Defense Brigade (Na Ngoi commune), 12 border guard posts, and the Mobile Training Battalion.
Over the past years, the political security situation and social order and safety in the area have been basically maintained.

The Command Board of Military Region 4 - Tuong Duong has always received regular leadership and guidance from the Military Region Command and the Provincial Military Command. At the same time, it has received the consensus and support of local Party committees and authorities in the process of streamlining the organizational structure and improving the efficiency of local military agencies.
The unit's officers and Party members have a strong sense of discipline and are ready to accept and complete new tasks. Currently, the unit is focusing on leading and directing the implementation of the 2026 military recruitment task, ensuring it is carried out on schedule and meets the requirements.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and effectiveness of the Command Board of Zone 4 - Tuong Duong in managing a large area with rugged and fragmented terrain, and with inadequate infrastructure.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that both Military Region 4 and the province consider the area a key strategic priority in national defense and security. Therefore, he requested the Provincial Military Command to continue to pay attention to, support, and create favorable conditions for the unit to better fulfill its nhiệm vụ.

Emphasizing the unique geographical features of the area, including its fragmented terrain and harsh weather conditions, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the pivotal role of the armed forces in the area, including the Command Board of Zone 4 - Tuong Duong, in assisting the people in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters during the rainy season and floods; combating drought, and preventing and fighting forest fires during the dry season.
The head of the Provincial People's Committee requested the unit to continue to play a key role in carrying out the above tasks; at the same time, to continue to maintain a high level of training and combat readiness, because "the more peacetime there is, the more we must be ready."
On the other hand, the unit needs to strengthen its presence in the local area, closely coordinate with the Party committees and authorities of the communes to lead and direct military and national defense tasks, especially within the two levels of local government; in the immediate future, it needs to successfully carry out the 2026 recruitment task, ensuring the target and quality of new recruits.

The comrade also suggested that the Steering Committee for Security and Order in Zone 4 - Tuong Duong continue to strengthen coordination with the local police forces in accordance with Government Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP dated September 5, 2019, on coordination between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense in performing tasks of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, combating crime, and national defense.
Emphasizing the role and importance of the Regional Military Command Boards in the province, including Regional Military Command Board 4 - Tuong Duong, Comrade Vo Trong Hai requested the Provincial Military Command to proactively advise and propose necessary mechanisms and policies to improve the effectiveness of task implementation. Based on that, the Provincial People's Committee will consider and facilitate the resolution as soon as possible.

Presenting gifts and words of encouragement, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee commended and highly appreciated the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the results achieved by the officers and soldiers of the Command Post of Zone 4 - Tuong Duong; and expressed confidence that the unit will continue to excellently fulfill its assigned tasks.
