PV:As a son of Nghe An, having worked in the province for a long time in many different positions, and now being nominated to run for the 14th National Assembly, what are your thoughts, comrade?

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc:I was honored to be born and raised in the Soviet homeland. After graduating from university, I returned to work in my hometown and grew up from the grassroots. During my work, I always tried my best with the collective to develop Nghe An. That was, together with the Standing Committee of the Cua Lo City Party Committee, proposing to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to issue Resolution 05 on developing Cua Lo tourism and proposing the policy of "5 no", effectively eliminating hunger, reducing poverty, and increasing people's income. Therefore, Cua Lo has become a type 3 urban area and has been recognized by the Government as the first coastal urban area in Vietnam.

As the provincial leader, I and my comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee proposed the Politburo to issue Resolution 26 on the direction and tasks for socio-economic development of Nghe An province until 2020. Thanks to that, Nghe An has achieved many important achievements, creating a new look.

Attracting investment is also one of the breakthroughs for Nghe An's economy to take off in the context of the country's deep international integration, opening its doors to investors with abundant economic and technological resources. Nghe An has the presence of many large corporations and enterprises. Many promising projects promise to bring good results in the near future. The fields of culture - society, security - defense, foreign affairs all have positive changes... Building new rural areas is a miracle, by the end of 2015, there were 114 communes meeting new rural standards (leading the country)...

PV:Now that you have moved on to a new task, you still have many plans, concerns, and directions for the development of Nghe An, comrade?

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc:Due to work requirements, I moved to a new position but there are still many unfinished plans and projects. Among them, the biggest goal is to join the Provincial Party Standing Committee to lead the construction of Nghe An to become a fairly developed province in the Northern region, developing towards industrialization and modernization, becoming a center of finance, trade, tourism, education and training, science and technology, health care, culture, sports, and high-tech industry in the North Central region.

Including building Vinh city into an economic and cultural center of the North Central region in a number of fields to develop together with Cua Lo into a growth pole and spearhead of economic growth of the province. Building the Southeast Economic Zone into a key multi-industry, multi-functional economic zone of the whole country, linked with Vinh city to become a breakthrough development area of ​​the province. Completing infrastructure and creating favorable mechanisms to deploy investment in developing VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Service and Urban Park. Developing districts adjacent to Vinh city to become important satellites connecting with Vinh - Cua Lo. Developing the Hoang Mai - Quynh Luu area linked with the South Thanh Hoa - North Nghe An area. Developing the economy of Western Nghe An into a growth pole of Nghe An province.

PV:In your new position, if you are elected by voters as a delegate of the 14th National Assembly, what action plan and program do you have to meet the people's expectations, comrade?

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc:If I am elected by voters to the National Assembly in a new position, first of all, I will try to fulfill the duties and tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the people. As the State Auditor General, I will lead the State Audit to develop strongly, as an independent agency of the National Assembly to conduct audits, manage and use public finance and public assets, advise the National Assembly on leadership, management and control of the national finance and national assets in a transparent manner, contributing to the building and development of a rich and civilized country.

To fulfill my duties as a representative of the people, I will actively and responsibly participate in contributing ideas to build laws and resolutions of the National Assembly that are appropriate to the practical conditions of the country, and policies that promote the rapid and sustainable development of the country.

In particular, I will regularly maintain contact with voters, actively contact voters to grasp the thoughts, feelings, recommendations, urgent issues, and legitimate aspirations of the people to direct, urge, resolve, and recommend solutions to the competent authorities; at the same time, have a strong voice in the National Assembly forum so that the National Assembly has mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties at the grassroots level. At the same time, I will actively connect the central ministries and branches, and work with the provincial leaders to find development orientations for my homeland Nghe An.
