Dong Yen Pagoda distributed many gifts at the Buddha's Birthday celebration.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of April 30th, at Dong Yen Pagoda in Quynh Thuan commune (Quynh Luu district), the Buddha's Birthday celebration for the Buddhist year 2561 – Gregorian year 2017 was held.

Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province, leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports; the Religious Affairs Committee; representatives of various departments and agencies, leaders of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district, and a large number of Buddhist followers in the district.

The Buddha's Birthday celebration was held in a solemn and serene atmosphere, with all the reverence of the Venerable Monks of Dong Yen Pagoda and a large number of Buddhist followers.

On this occasion, the pagoda donated 120 million VND to support four impoverished households in building charitable houses. They also donated 25 bicycles to poor but studious students and many gifts to the Youth Volunteer Association in Quynh Thuan commune, with a total charitable value of 190 million VND.
