Dong Yen Pagoda gives many gifts at Buddha's Birthday

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of April 30, at Dong Yen Pagoda in Quynh Thuan Commune (Quynh Luu), Buddha's Birthday Ceremony was held, Buddhist calendar 2561 - Gregorian calendar 2017.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports; the Religious Affairs Committee; representatives of departments, branches and leaders of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district and a large number of Buddhists in the district.

The Buddha's birthday ceremony took place solemnly and peacefully with all the sincerity of the Venerable Monks of Dong Yen Pagoda and a large number of Buddhists.

On this occasion, the pagoda donated 120 million VND to support 4 poor households to build charity houses. It also donated 25 bicycles to poor but studious students and many gifts to the Youth Volunteer Association in Quynh Thuan commune with a total charity value of 190 million VND.
