On July 13, Phuc Lac Pagoda in Nghi Thach Commune, Nghi Loc District held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a large statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere with the presence of monks and many Buddhists from near and far.
Phuc Lac Pagoda was built during the Le Dynasty, about 400 years ago, but now only the courtyard and some precious ancient artifacts remain. In 2010, the pagoda was approved for restoration by the Provincial People's Committee.
