Bodies of 2 Nghe An workers who died in Laos cannot be brought home yet
(Baonghean.vn) - At noon on January 12, relatives of the two workers who died in the scaffolding collapse in Laos were still waiting at La Lay International Border Gate (Quang Tri) to receive the coffins carrying the two bodies back home.
The two deceased workers were Vo Van Tuan (born in 1985, from Phu Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district) and Phan Van Thai (born in 1993, residing in hamlet 7, Tan Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district).
Mr. Dang Chau (from Nghe An), currently working in Laos, said that the bodies of the two workers are still being kept at a church in Bac Xe district (Chan Pa Sac province, Laos), about 200km from the scene of the accident.
Mr. Dang Chau added that after hearing about the accident, many Vietnamese people living and working in Laos came to burn incense and pay their respects to the two unfortunate victims. Many people cried in front of the portraits of the two workers as they passed away at a young age.

Although the relatives of the two workers had hired a car to go to La Lay International Border Gate, due to paperwork issues, they were unable to take the car to Bac Xe district to transport the bodies and had to wait at the border gate. As of 12 noon on January 12, the car carrying the bodies of the two workers had not yet arrived at La Lay International Border Gate.
Mr. Tran Duy Liem - Chairman of Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee (Yen Thanh) said that the local government has helped the family with paperwork and preparations to bring Thai's body home and organize the funeral.
As reported, on the morning of January 11, Mr. Tuan and Mr. Thai were working at the Muong Khong Hydropower Plant (Laos) when the scaffolding collapsed. The collapse killed both men.
It is known that Mr. Thai is not married and has just worked in Laos for a short time.

Mr. Tuan is married and has two children in 6th grade and kindergarten. His family's circumstances are difficult.
