A collection of poems by female authors

PV • October 21, 2026 17:23

Poet and journalist Pham Thuy Vinh selected and introduced these works.

It's the end of October, the peak of autumn, a time when nature evokes a sense of wistfulness, a time when people remember their grandmothers, mothers, sisters, and daughters—the women who have been a part of their lives. They came with gentleness and kindness, comforting us with love and compassion.

Similarly, women poets pour their subtle emotions into their poems, recalling love, sacrifice, how they cherish each moment, and how they reflect on humanity, their homeland, and life itself.

Nghe An Weekend respectfully presents to readers a collection of poems by female authors.

Eye of the pond

There are no lotus seasons around here.
Only the earth gently carried the day through the fire.
the shape of a flower
I suddenly remembered myself.

convinced that it was the last drop of water.
crystal clear, other life
mud of memories
never once did my eyes well up with tears.

gradually warming up
Rainbow scales, perhaps a thousand years old
The afternoon light flickers gently.
green buds.

Beautiful woman

A smile shines through the sunlight.
My sister, with her beauty, sings songs of a beautiful woman.
The saying goes, "Please don't be too fussy."
Don't pour soup over cold rice.
Nestled amidst the hustle and bustle.
How can one fully comprehend the vastness of heaven and earth?
Sending my pure and innocent heart
Into the dusty place, indifferent arms
The full moon touches my dreams.
The road is long and arduous, I waited. Still no sign of him!
Until the day her cheeks were no longer rosy.
The lips may lose their color, but the longing remains.
The Earth remains round even after a thousand years.
Therefore, beauty should remain vibrant and youthful.
It seems like the sun shines on the mountains and the rains fall in the mountains.
Gather into me all the passions of intoxication and sobriety.
Love surges like a full wave.
Overflowing the banks of the silt-rich aquaculture farm.
You become the fragrance of countless flowers.
Life is filled with the richness of love.
She became shimmering with silken threads.
Gentleness appears in the silent mirror.
You instilled longing in me.
May spring bring warmth and life remain ever vibrant.

Harvest

The Terminalia catappa fruit drinks in the summer sun.
Spitting out crimson blood in the cool breeze of the changing seasons.
The fragrant fruit in the basket my grandmother bought
Bring the scent of autumn to cast a spell on the world.

The street is now bustling and peaceful.
Birds sing leisurely by the yellow chrysanthemums in the corner of the yard.
The cloud sat there, lost in thought.
Autumn has arrived, its feet touching the verdant green.

The river lies listening to the sunlight whispering.
The rain still lingers, clinging to something that hasn't yet faded away.
Smoke rises from the kitchen to the sky.
Infused with the aroma of roasted rice, stories of life and homeland.

A gentle autumn breeze is coming.
We are just one man and one man-made dike anchored to it.

Apricot Blossom

Aspiration for the autumn breeze

Did I become Autumn, or did Autumn become me?
I'm not sure anymore.
I only know when you remember.
Yellow chrysanthemums bloom along the riverbank.
And when she cries
The rain has written a hundred lines on my hair.

Are you still the passionate summer?
Fire at the end of the river
Sending to autumn the sound of thunder and a sudden downpour.

It's too late.
I send you my wish for the autumn breeze.
Blowing through two vast skies
He stammered a sentence to the end of summer:
- You are Autumn dating Winter!
Does the flame tree know that autumn is weeping in secret?

Vo Hang
Clouds over the top of Don Den.

Four o'clock in the morning
Wild roosters crow loudly on the summit of Don Den*
The sun is still asleep.
Eyes half-closed
Afraid of being late
Reaching out, I scooped up a handful of clouds mixed with rays of sunlight.
Scattered down to earth

The mountains are dreaming.
Waking up suddenly
Lift the green blanket.
Embrace the sweetness of the early morning.

And then
From golden threads
The clouds opened up.
Radiant

Look, the gentle breezes are like breaths.
Touch the green buds
Look at the freshness!
Emerging from the freshly ripened petals
Look how sweet it is!
The bees that forage at night forget their way home.

Look at those delusions!
born from the hustle and bustle
Look at that hasty promise!
gives rise to doubts
Everything is fading away.
On top of Don Den this morning

Only the clouds remain.
It disperses and then comes back together.
His picture on the mountaintop
A poem sent to you
