The "Fire of the Pen" exchange program commemorates the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2025), on the evening of June 18, the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association and Nghe An Radio and Television Station organized an exchange program titled "The Flame of the Pen." The program aimed to honor journalists and mark the journey of Nghe An's journalism in the context of Vietnam's revolutionary press.

Attending the program were: Comrade Ngoc Kim Nam – Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Nhu Khoi – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Dinh Long – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with leaders of departments, agencies, press organizations and a large number of outstanding journalists from various generations in the province.

“The Flame of the Pen” is an opportunity to honor journalists who have contributed to the development of journalism in Nghe An province. The program brought forth authentic and inspiring stories from veteran journalists, such as journalist Tran Hong Co – former Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Labor Newspaper, who steadfastly fought against negativity with his pen; journalist Phan Thi Thuy Lien – former Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, whom colleagues likened to a “fire-resistant brick” for her dedication and courage; and journalist Tran Duy Ngoan – former Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station, who remains dedicated to journalism even after retirement.

In the next segment of the discussion, journalists working in Nghe An, such as journalist Vu Toan (contributor to the Communist Magazine), journalist Nhat Lan (Nghe An Newspaper), and journalist Xuan Huong (Nghe An Radio and Television Station), shared their experiences regarding professional pressures, journalistic principles, and the dedication to pursuing the truth.

Stories from real-life experiences not only demonstrate professional competence but also reflect the sense of responsibility, dedication, and humanity of journalists.

The program also served as a forum for journalists and leaders of Nghe An province to exchange views on the development direction of journalism in the digital transformation era. Journalist Tran Minh Ngoc – Chairman of the Nghe An Journalists Association and Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station – emphasized that journalists today need to innovate their thinking, adapt to technology, but still maintain their integrity, guiding role, and responsibility to society.

The opinions of Comrade Nguyen Ba Hao – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Comrade Pham Ngoc Canh – Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee also affirmed the importance of improving the effectiveness of state management, while creating conditions for the press to operate in accordance with its principles and objectives, serving the development of the province effectively and sustainably.

Interspersed between the interactive sessions were unique and emotionally rich artistic performances such as "The Spirit of Vietnam," "Continuing the Story of Peace," "Let the Wind Carry It Away," and "The Song of a Journalist," performed by journalists, reporters, and editors from Nghe An Radio and Television Station and Nghe An Newspaper, contributing to honoring the journalism profession and spreading love for the profession to the public.
