Art program 'Truong Bon - Immortal epic'

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of August 14, at Truong Bon historical relic site, My Son commune, Do Luong district, Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with Nghe An province organized the Art Program "Truong Bon - Immortal epic".

Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Politburo member, Prime Minister; Nguyen Sinh Hung - former Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly; comrades Politburo members, Secretaries of the Party Central Committee: Nguyen Van Binh - Head of the Central Economic Commission, Truong Thi Mai - Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission; comrades Central Party Executive Committee members: Thuan Huu - Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper; Phan Dinh Trac - Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Nguyen Thanh Binh - Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission; Nguyen Xuan Thang - Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Dao Ngoc Dung - Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; Nguyen The Ky - Director of the Voice of Vietnam; Nguyen Tan Cuong - Commander of Military Region 4; representatives of leaders of central ministries, departments and branches.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, districts, cities and towns.

The opening speech of the program by comrade Thuan Huu - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper emphasized: Truong Bon and the heroic sacrifice of 13 Youth Volunteer Heroes have become a legend in people's hearts, an immortal epic of youth in the war to liberate and unify the country.

The program "Truong Bon - Immortal Heroic Song" is implemented by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with Nghe An province and Vietnam Television with a sincere heart and deep gratitude, remembering the great contributions of the heroic martyrs, towards the 44th anniversary of Truong Bon Victory Day (October 31, 1968 - October 31, 2016), and is also an activity "When drinking water, remember the source", calling for donations, support, and help for hundreds of former Youth Volunteers and relatives of martyrs in difficult circumstances currently living in Nghe An province and tens of thousands of people in general across the country.

The Art Program “Truong Bon – The Immortal Epic” was scripted and performed by the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater in collaboration with the Nghe An Province Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe, consisting of 4 parts:

Part I: "My Hometown" includes folk songs about my hometown in Nghe An.

Part II: "Truong Bon Epic" revives unforgettable memories of a time of bombs and bullets, a glorious time of Truong Bon youth volunteers with the iron determination "The heart can stop beating, but the road cannot be blocked. Live by clinging to the bridge, clinging to the road, die resiliently and bravely".

The song and dance performance opened the program.

Ms. Tran Thi Thong - the only female Youth Volunteer of the "Steel Squad" who survived the enemy's bomb attack, attended the program with relatives of Truong Bon heroic martyrs.

The image of Truong Bon youth volunteers is portrayed through song and dance performances, recalling a time of bombs and bullets, a glorious time of the resistance war against America to save the country.

A large number of officers, soldiers and people watched the program.

Part III "Memorial Song" honors and pays tribute to heroes, martyrs, and generations of youth volunteers who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the country, and for the traffic lifeline on the legendary route.

Part IV "New Homeland" depicts the constant development of Do Luong land and Nghe An province.
