The art program 'Truong Bon - An Immortal Epic'
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of August 14th, at the Truông Bồn Historical Site in Mỹ Sơn commune, Đô Lương district, the Nhân Dân Newspaper, in collaboration with Nghệ An province, organized the art program "Truông Bồn – An Immortal Epic".
Attending the event were: Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Member of the Political Bureau, Prime Minister; Nguyen Sinh Hung - former Member of the Political Bureau, Chairman of the National Assembly; members of the Political Bureau and Secretaries of the Central Committee: Nguyen Van Binh - Head of the Central Economic Committee, Truong Thi Mai - Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization; members of the Central Committee of the Party: Thuan Huu - Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper; Phan Dinh Trac - Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee; Nguyen Thanh Binh - Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee; Nguyen Xuan Thang - Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy; Dao Ngoc Dung - Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs; Nguyen The Ky - Director of the Voice of Vietnam Radio; Nguyen Tan Cuong - Commander of Military Region 4; and representatives of leaders from central ministries, departments and agencies.
Representing Nghe An province were: Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of leaders from departments, agencies, districts, cities, and towns.

In his opening speech, Comrade Thuan Huu, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Editor-in-Chief of the People's Newspaper, emphasized that Truong Bon, along with the heroic sacrifice of the 13 Youth Volunteers, has become a legend in people's hearts, an immortal epic of youth in the war for liberation and national reunification.

The program "Truong Bon - An Immortal Epic," implemented by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with Nghe An province and Vietnam Television, expresses profound respect and gratitude, commemorating the immense contributions of the heroic martyrs, and is held to mark the 44th anniversary of the Truong Bon victory (October 31, 1968 - October 31, 2016). It also serves as an activity of "remembering the source of the water we drink," calling for donations and support to hundreds of former Youth Volunteers and family members of martyrs in difficult circumstances currently living in Nghe An province, as well as tens of thousands of people nationwide.

Prior to the art performance, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented gifts and savings passbooks to the families of the 13 Youth Volunteers of Truong Bon; Comrade Thuan Huu and Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province - presented gifts to representatives of the Management Board of Truong Bon Historical Site in Nghe An and the Nghe An Scholarship Fund.

The art program "Truong Bon - An Immortal Epic," scripted and performed in collaboration with the Nghe An Provincial Ethnic Music and Dance Troupe, consists of four parts:
Part I: "My Homeland" includes folk songs about the homeland of Nghe An province.
Part II: "The Epic of Truong Bon" revives unforgettable memories of a time of bombs and bullets, a glorious era of the Truong Bon Youth Volunteers with their unwavering determination: "Our hearts may stop beating, but the road cannot be blocked. We live clinging to the bridge and the road, and we die bravely and resolutely."

Part III, "A Memorial," honors and pays tribute to the heroes, martyrs, and generations of volunteer youth who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the nation, and for the vital transportation link on this legendary route.
Part IV, "Homeland in a New Era," depicts the continuous development of the Do Luong region and Nghe An province.
