The flight from Pyongyang to Bangkok was empty.

(Baonghean.vn) - Media outlets reported on April 29 that a flight from Pyongyang to Bangkok operated by North Korea's national airline, Air Koryo, had no passengers, and considered this the latest action by the United Nations in imposing sanctions on North Korea.

Air Koryo flight JS253, which flies once a week, carries mainly Chinese tourists from Pyongyang to Bangkok via Shenyang, in northeastern China.

However, an unnamed aviation official said the April 27 flight had no passengers and only carried the pilot and crew.

Currently, North Korea is subject to UN sanctions for pursuing its nuclear programs, and the boycott of flights by the national airline Air Koryo may be the latest step in that campaign.

Earlier on April 28, Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed that China would fully implement UN sanctions and pledged that Beijing would not allow war or any instability to appear on the Korean Peninsula.

According to a South Korean government source, China is planning to cancel flights from Pyongyang to Bangkok that transit through Shenyang airport.

In addition, on April 19, the Thai government approved the UN sanctions resolution and warned of the potential impact on domestic companies doing business with North Korean enterprises.
