Digital transformation to help rural industrial enterprises 'understand correctly and do things correctly'.

On the morning of November 16th, the Department of Local Industry and Trade, Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade, organized a workshop on digital transformation for rural industrial establishments. Attending the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Local Industry and Trade, along with leaders from the Departments of Industry and Trade of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Thanh Hoa provinces.

At the workshop, participants were provided with multifaceted information and knowledge about digital transformation so that businesses can "understand correctly and do it correctly." Simultaneously, drawing on practical experience in digital transformation consulting at various businesses, speakers also highlighted the challenges and advantages faced by rural industrial establishments such as seafood processing and rattan and bamboo weaving, enabling them to proactively respond; solutions for applying e-commerce and digital transformation to rural industrial establishments in Vietnam; trends in applying digital transformation in businesses in Vietnam; and introduced some of the company's digital transformation solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam.

The workshop also focused on advising and providing a simple digital transformation roadmap for businesses and introducing highly applicable and easy-to-implement solutions to help rural industrial establishments begin their digital transformation immediately. Through the workshop, state management agencies also gained a better understanding of the actual situation and difficulties faced by businesses, thereby enabling them to develop appropriate and effective policies to encourage and support rural industrial establishments.

Digital transformation for rural industrial enterprises is crucial in the current period. Addressing this issue will provide rural industrial enterprises with a solid foundation to confidently develop amidst the opportunities and challenges as Vietnam participates more deeply and broadly in global free trade agreements.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Local Industry and Trade, supporting rural industrial establishments in building and implementing a suitable digital transformation roadmap requires synchronized coordination from all levels and sectors, from state management agencies to consulting units, experts, and rural industrial establishments.

The Department of Industry and Trade needs to continue promoting and disseminating information about mechanisms and policies on digital transformation to rural industrial establishments; and direct the Center for Industrial Promotion to develop programs to support rural industrial establishments in their digital transformation using local budget funds.

Provincial Industrial Promotion Centers advise on the development of phased programs to support digital transformation for rural industrial establishments in their respective areas, to be submitted to the Department of Industry and Trade and the Provincial People's Committee for approval; gather needs and coordinate with the Industrial Promotion and Development Consulting Center 1 to implement activities supporting rural industrial establishments in their areas to adopt digital transformation.

Center for Industrial Promotion 1 is the focal point for coordinating with provincial centers for industrial promotion to gather the needs of rural industrial establishments regarding support for digital transformation in rural industrial establishments in provinces and cities. This serves as the basis for developing pilot industrial promotion projects and specific support programs to be submitted to the Department of Industry and Trade for approval and allocation of funds from the national industrial promotion budget in subsequent years.

On the part of the Department of Local Industry and Trade, we will advise the Ministry of Industry and Trade leadership to allocate budget from the national industrial promotion fund in the following years to support digital transformation for rural industrial establishments. The Department of Local Industry and Trade will also direct the Industrial Promotion Center 1 to promptly develop, submit, and implement activities to support the digital transformation of rural industrial establishments in the following years.
