Specifically, Air Force Regiment 921 will be transferred from Noi Bai International Airport to Yen Bai Airport. The Yen Bai Airport project broke ground in July 2016 and will be completed and put into operation in the second quarter of 2018.

In Da Nang, the 929th Air Force Regiment will be transferred to Chu Lai Airport. According to the plan, the infrastructure of this regiment will be put into use from the third quarter of 2019. Similarly, the 917th Air Force Regiment will be transferred from Tan Son Nhat International Airport to Can Tho Airport, starting operations from the second quarter of 2017.

In particular, to facilitate civil aviation activities at Tan Son Nhat, the Ministry of National Defense brought the entire 917th Air Force Regiment to Bien Hoa airport in March 2016 for training.

The Ministry of National Defense also directed the inventory of assets, determination of boundaries, relocation of old and damaged aircraft, and agreement on a plan with relevant agencies of the aviation industry to soon hand over 21 hectares of military parking lot at Tan Son Nhat to the Ministry of Transport in October 2016.

Regarding the management of unmanned aircraft and ultralight aircraft such as flycam, Major General Hoang Viet Quang said that it is implementing Decree 36/2008. The General Staff has assigned the Operations Department to draft a Circular on Regulations on the operation of unmanned aircraft and ultralight aircraft. This document is expected to be issued in November, and will encourage these activities to be included in regionally managed aviation clubs to ensure general security and safety.
