The story of a Thai ethnic family with 14 Party members.
(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Luong Van Dao (of the Thai ethnic group) - a respected figure in Kim Chuong village, Thanh Son commune, Thanh Chuong district - is nearly 80 years old and has been a Party member for 50 years. His extended family is considered "red seeds" in the resettlement area, with 14 members being Party members…
Before moving to the Thanh Son resettlement area in Thanh Chuong district, Mr. Luong Van Dao's entire family lived in Kim Tien commune, Tuong Duong district.
In his hometown of Kim Tien, Mr. Luong Van Dao dedicated 14 years to serving in the commune-level government (10 years as vice chairman and head of the commune police; 10 years as both vice chairman and deputy secretary of the commune Party committee). After retirement, Mr. Luong Xuan Dao remained enthusiastic about community work and was trusted by the people to be elected as chairman of the Kim Tien Commune Senior Citizens Association.

In 2006, in response to the government's policy of relocating people to resettle for the Ban Ve hydroelectric project, Mr. Dao's family was one of the first exemplary households to leave their old hometown and move to a new place of residence in the Thanh Son commune resettlement area, Thanh Chuong district.
Despite facing many difficulties in his new home, Mr. Luong Van Dao remained loyal to the Party. He encouraged his family members and fellow villagers to plant acacia trees, cassava, and rice to stockpile food and stabilize their lives. He himself always set a good example in all village activities and was re-elected as the chairman of the Elderly Association of Kim Chuong village. With his extensive experience in local government work, Mr. Luong Xuan Dao has become a role model for his descendants to emulate, and a respected figure trusted by the villagers.
Speaking about his father, Mr. Luong Van Dau said: "Although he retired a long time ago and is getting old, my father is still very enthusiastic about helping the villagers; he always cares about village affairs and the Party branch. He still participates in Party activities regularly and always supports and encourages his children and grandchildren to strive to be admitted to the Party."
It seems that Mr. Luong Xuan Dao's enthusiasm and unwavering dedication have motivated his children and grandchildren to strive in their studies, work, and careers, with those who follow his example. As a result, three generations of his family (four sons, two daughters-in-law, five grandchildren, and two sons-in-law) are all Party members.
Currently, Mr. Dao's eldest son, Luong Van Dau, is the Party branch secretary of Kim Chuong village. His two grandsons, Luong Van Cuong (born in 1984) and Luong Van Anh (born in 1990), are Party committee members and Party members of Kim Chuong village, assigned to oversee veterinary and forestry affairs in the village.

Mr. Dao's extended family is also praised by the local community for its tradition of academic excellence. Many of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren have graduated from universities and colleges and have stable jobs, such as Ms. Luong Thi Diem: a graduate of Hue University of Medicine, working at the Health Station of Hanh Lam commune (Thanh Chuong); Mr. Lo Dai Nhat (grandson) studied at the military academy and is currently working at the Military Command of Do Luong district…
Speaking about how he educates his children and grandchildren, Mr. Luong Van Dao said: "I set a good example both in my work and in my daily life, so my children and grandchildren naturally look up to me and follow my example." Besides that, he knows how to inspire and foster unity within the family, so his children and grandchildren all know how to encourage each other to strive and succeed in life.
Besides his involvement in government work, Mr. Luong Van Dao is also active in business and economic development. His family regularly raises 4-5 cows, has a fish pond, and cultivates a hillside garden with nearly 1 hectare of acacia trees; the garden consistently has about 20 beehives that produce sweet honey year-round.
