Reports that the US is trying to eavesdrop on President Putin's phone calls are worth paying attention to, Sputnik news agency quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying.

According to new documents released by the classified website WikiLeaks, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has five secret servers dedicated to eavesdropping, codenamed "PocketPutin".

Regarding this information, Peskov stated on March 9: "Of course, we are paying attention to this data as much as the international community. Naturally, it deserves attention and careful reading." However, the spokesperson said that the information published by WikiLeaks did not reveal anything new.

"As you know, in Washington, they don't hide the fact that they are very actively wiretapping the phones of Russian officials. They wiretapped Ambassador Kislyak's phone. Nobody hides that. So, without even opening the WikiLeaks website, everyone can guess," Peskov told reporters.

On March 7, WikiLeaks released 8,700 classified data files, which the website called the largest leak ever related to the CIA.

According to WikiLeaks, Vault7 will be the largest leak of classified CIA information ever. The leaked documents reveal that the CIA used the US consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, as a central hub for hacking operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Currently, the CIA has not verified the authenticity of the leaked documents.
