Clinton leads Trump by 5 points ahead of the second debate.

(Baonghean.vn) - According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is leading her Republican opponent Donald Trump by 5% of the vote ahead of the second debate.

The results of last week's opinion polls (September 30 - October 6) showed that 43% of voters supported Clinton, while 38% supported Trump. Since the beginning of September, Hillary Clinton has consistently led Trump by 4-6 points in weekly polls.

Hillary Clinton was rated higher than Trump in the first debate.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted online across all 50 states. 1,695 voters participated, selected based on registration status, voting history, and voting purpose. Therefore, the poll's accuracy is quite high, with only a 3% margin of error.

About one-fifth of voters in the poll did not choose either candidate, opting instead into the "Other," "Do not vote," or "Reject" categories. This is double the number of voters who did not choose either candidate in a similar poll in 2012, indicating that many Americans are now neutral in their assessment of Clinton and Trump.

In another poll of alternate party candidates, Clinton continued to lead with 42% of the vote, Trump had 37%, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson received 8%, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein had 2%.

The Clinton-Trump showdown is currently the most watched presidential election in history. The advantage seems to be with Clinton, as a large majority of Americans believe she will win. Recently, Trump faced a further setback when the New York Times published his tax returns from 1995, revealing that he deliberately reported large losses to evade personal income tax for nearly 20 years.

Clinton and Trump will meet again for their second debate on Sunday night, October 9th (US time), which is equivalent to tomorrow morning, October 10th (Vietnam time). This debate continues to be of significant importance ahead of the November 8th election.
