(Baonghean.vn) - Orphaned from a young age, she had to depend on her grandparents. Now her grandfather has suffered a stroke, and her grandmother alone can hardly take care of her food, clothing, and her studies.

Whenever mentioning the situation of Luc Thi Phuong (born in 2009), people in village 1, Duc Son commune (Anh Son) express sympathy and some concern because when she was less than 1 year old, she had to suffer the loss of her mother, always thirsty for milk. Her mother died early, Phuong lived with her father and grandparents in difficult circumstances, lacking everything. Neighbors still remember the scene of Phuong's father, Luc Ngoc Trieu, carrying his little girl everywhere to beg for milk, which made everyone feel sorry for him. To make up for his daughter's deprivation and hardship, Trieu tried to work hard, doing all kinds of jobs to earn money, hoping his daughter would have a good future.

But then, misfortune continued to strike the poor girl's life. When Phuong was not yet 5 years old, her father had an accident and passed away, leaving behind the burden of caring for her elderly grandparents. Losing their daughter-in-law and son one after another, Mr. Luc Ngoc Hoanh and his wife were completely devastated, their health declined, but because of their love for their orphaned grandchild, they had to try to get back up.

Not having enough strength to work in the fields to grow corn and rice, the grandparents only know how to grow vegetables, raise pigs and chickens to make ends meet. The youngest son is working far away, at home there are only the two of them and their young grandchild, life is always in poverty. When she reached school age, despite the difficult circumstances, the grandparents still created conditions for Luc Thi Phuong to go to school with her peers.

In class, Phuong always receives attention from teachers, who help her and share her difficulties in studying as well as in life. Whenever there are gifts from benefactors, the school's Board of Directors always gives a special gift to the orphaned student.

Not long ago, Mr. Luc Ngoc Hoanh suffered a stroke and had to undergo long-term treatment, which cost a lot of money. The family was already in a difficult situation, and now life became even more difficult and arduous. Mrs. Ngo Thi Loc (Phuong's grandmother) had to shoulder the burden of treating her husband and raising her grandchild alone. Faced with this situation, the Women's Union of Duc Son commune agreed to help Phuong by donating rice so that she could have enough to eat for the whole year.

The women of the whole commune, with the core being the members of Branch 1, unanimously helped and shared the difficulties of Phuong. Branch 1 set up a “Charity Rice Jar” so that the families of the members could reduce their food rations to help Luc Thi Phuong. Other branches helped by donating money, instant noodles, books, and clothes.

Notably, recently, the Union and the school have acted as a bridge with the "Because You Deserve It" Program, giving Phuong more than 53 million VND.

This money will be used for her future education. Ms. Ngo Thi Loc shared: “My family is facing difficult and unfortunate times, I am not able to take care of Phuong, but fortunately, I have received a lot of attention and help from the community and society. I would like to thank everyone for their kindness!”

Ms. Phan Thi Tuyet - Member of the Standing Committee of the Women's Union of Duc Son commune said: "Luc Thi Phuong's situation is really pitiful, we are trying to help her so that she has enough rice to eat. It is expected that the "Charity Rice Jar" will continue to be maintained in the coming years and we also hope that benefactors will help her more so that she can continue her studies."
