(Baonghean.vn) - For the past two days, social media has been buzzing with shared clips of "A girl from Nghe An singing 'Come to Ha Tinh, my dear'" as sweet as... honey! That girl is Ha Thi Nhu (13 years old), currently a student in class 7A at Phuc Thanh Secondary School (Yen Thanh).

Ha Thi Nhu is the only child singer from Nghe An to advance to the next round of the "Future Idol" competition. The second episode aired at 7 PM on March 18th on HTV7. The clip of Nhu singing "Come Back to Ha Tinh, My Dear" is also her performance in this competition.

After hearing Nhu sing, the judges, including many veteran folk music artists, couldn't contain their joy and showered her with praise. Singer Quang Linh exclaimed: "Oh my God, she's only 13 years old but she sings like People's Artist Thu Hien! Her musical sense is excellent, her singing is flawless, just right to listen to, and just right to touch everyone's heart..."

This somewhat overly flattering praise was met with approval from People's Artist Thu Hien: "Your singing moved me deeply. I felt every word, every phrase of my homeland..."

After a successful round, receiving many congratulations from the judges, family, and fans back home, Quynh Nhu happily said: "I feel very happy. The competition will get harder as it progresses, so I will try even harder."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (44 years old), Nhu's mother, shared: Before and after the Lunar New Year of the Rooster, Nhu participated in many charity programs in Yen Thanh and Nghi Loc districts, and even in Ha Tinh province. Just before leaving for the South to participate in the second round of the "Future Idol" competition, Nhu also performed with the Phuc Thanh commune folk song club at the Duc Hoang Temple Festival. While Nhu was in Ho Chi Minh City, the members of the commune's folk song club called to say they were waiting for Nhu to come home to participate in a new program.

As a well-behaved student, not only a good singer but also an excellent student, just like in previous competitions, Nhu always brought her books and notebooks to keep up with the school curriculum, and diligently reviewed the lessons sent online by her teachers and friends.

In particular, during this time, Yen Thanh district is preparing for the gifted student competition, so after singing practice sessions, Nhu is trying to review her academics to participate in the district-level gifted student competition in English. Teacher Tran Thi Luu - homeroom teacher of class 7A - said: "Nhu is good at many subjects; for this gifted student competition, she could compete in both Math and English, but because she's busy with the singing competition, she hasn't had much time to study, so she's only participating in the English competition."

According to Ms. Huong, because Nhu is passionate about singing, her parents, despite the hardships, indulge her passion. Currently, Nhu's father is working part-time in Hanoi, while her mother has followed Nhu to the South. Having planned for her to participate in the "Future Idol" competition, Ms. Huong finished tending to her four acres of rice paddies and garden after Tet (Lunar New Year). The family hasn't dared to raise cattle, pigs, or chickens yet because they're always away from home. About a week before the second round of the competition, Ms. Huong and her daughter packed their bags and headed to the South. This time, she also had to ask her grandmother to look after the garden and house.

Nhu's mother further revealed that, participating in the "Future God" competition, the organizers covered all travel and accommodation expenses for both mother and daughter, which helped to ease the burden somewhat. "We only planned to stay for a week, but because my daughter made it to the third round, we stayed for another week. Hopefully, she will make it to the next rounds."

"Future Idol" is a reality TV show searching for talented singers aged 8-14 who love folk music. The judging panel consists of famous singers and artists such as People's Artist Thu Hien, Quang Linh, and Cam Ly. The program airs at 7 PM every Saturday on HTV7, starting March 11th.
