The poor girl scored high marks in two exam subjects.
(Baonghean.vn) - The people of Thanh Thuy commune (Thanh Chuong district), a border area, are delighted to receive good news: Nguyen Thi Dung, a student in class 12A, cohort 37, of Dang Thuc Hua High School, achieved high scores in the university entrance exams for both subject groups.
In the recent National High School Graduation Examination, Dung took the exam in both subject groups (A and B), thinking, "I'll study one more subject to be sure of the exam." In the B group, she achieved a high score of 27.8 points (Mathematics: 9, Chemistry: 9.8, Biology: 9), ranking first at Dang Thuc Hua High School. In the A group, Dung also achieved a high score and ranked second at the school.

What everyone admires about Dung is not only her academic excellence but also her efforts to overcome her family's difficult circumstances. Her father, Mr. Nguyen Tien The, is ill and unable to work, so since Dung was in the 4th grade, her mother, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, has had to leave home to work as a laborer to support her children's education, especially after her older brother, Nguyen Tien Cuong, was admitted to the Agricultural University I.
Understanding her family circumstances, Dung always strived in her studies, achieving excellent academic results for 12 consecutive years. She even won third prize in Chemistry at the provincial-level excellent student competition in 2014-2015. At school, Dung is sincere and friendly, always ready to share her knowledge and understanding with her classmates. She is nicknamed "the class's second Chemistry teacher."

Besides achieving high scores in exams, another joy for the enthusiastic class vice-president for academics is the honor of joining the Party at Dang Thuc Hua High School.
Speaking about her secret to achieving high academic results, Dung humbly said: "I just focus on listening to the teacher's lectures in class, complete all my homework at home, occasionally exchange knowledge with friends, and in my free time, I search for materials online and learn good problem-solving methods." Her long-held dream is to become a skilled doctor, using her knowledge to treat illnesses and help people. With a fairly high score in the B-block exam, Dung hopes to be admitted to the general medicine program at Hanoi Medical University.
