(Baonghean.vn) - When asked about the secret to being both a good singer and an excellent student, Nhu said, "I don't have any secrets, just passion. I put my studies first, I study while still singing, and I sing without forgetting to study."

Ha Thi Nhu (13 years old), a 7th grade student at Phuc Thanh Secondary School (Yen Thanh district), is known by her stage name, Quynh Nhu. Having loved singing since childhood, at the age of 5 she could sing the song "A Heartfelt Melody of Ha Tinh People," much to the surprise and admiration of many.

Over time, her innate talent, combined with diligent practice, has helped Quynh Nhu develop the singing voice she has today. A prominent feature of Nhu's voice is its gentleness and expressiveness; she sings both traditional folk songs and those with folk influences beautifully.

Currently, Nhu is the youngest member of the Phuc Thanh Commune Folk Song Club. She has participated in numerous local arts festivals, the Lang Sen Singing Festival, and folk song festivals at various levels. Mr. Thanh, the head of the Phuc Thanh Commune Folk Song Club, said: "Nhu is a talented young girl. Although young, she is an active member and has made many contributions to the success of the club in various competitions, performances, and festivals."

Locally, Nhu is not only active in the commune's folk song club but also participates in many programs organized by various departments and agencies in the district, such as performing in competitions, conferences, and charity events. Recently, Nhu has also been invited by music groups to sing at weddings and festivals. Nhu has performed in Hanoi in the "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" program (2015) and the "Affectionate Folk Songs" program of the Nghe Tinh Hometown Association (2016). In the summer of 2016, Nhu participated in a folk song singing skills training course led by People's Artist Hong Luu.

Not only is Nhu a talented singer, but she is also a diligent student, achieving the title of excellent student for six consecutive years. In the Yen Thanh district's excellent student competition (2015), Nhu won second prize in both English and Mathematics. As the only child in the family, besides studying, Nhu diligently takes care of household chores such as cooking and raising chickens and pigs to help her parents. Speaking about her daughter's love for singing, Ms. Tran Thi Huong (44 years old) happily said: "Day and night, after studying or working, she's always on her phone, learning to sing online. Many nights she falls asleep with the song playing in her hand. We are very happy that she learns and sings well. Although our family is a farming family with limited finances, we still support her in pursuing her passion for singing."

Quynh Nhu participated in a performance of folk songs and traditional music in Ha Tinh province.

Over the years, Nhu has won many top prizes in competitions and performances, notably the performance "Yen Thanh Rice Fields" - A prize in the Sen Village Singing Festival, and the performance "The Realm in Mother's Lullaby" - B prize in the Nghe An - Ha Tinh Inter-provincial Folk Song Festival (2016).

Nhu's dream is to become a folk singer. In early 2017, Nhu and her mother were in Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the "Future Idol" competition – a reality TV show searching for talented teenagers who love folk singing.
