(Baonghean.vn) – “She appeared on stage like an angel” is the compliment that singer Toc Tien – one of the 3 powerful judges of the Vietnam Idol Kids program gave to little girl Tran Thi Diep Nhi (8 years old) – a student of Dong Hieu Primary School (Thai Hoa Town).

Currently, Diep Nhi and her mother are in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the top 5 competition night of Vietnam Idol Kids, after surpassing thousands of contestants in the Audition round, Theater round and Liveshow 1 round.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue, Diep Nhi's mother, said that the change in weather and schedule was very stressful, but Diep Nhi was lucky to still maintain good health and excitement and passion in each performance.

In particular, she is very friendly with everyone, always smiling, greeting politely and adapting to the collective environment very quickly. "Every day, my child brings me a new surprise" - mother Diep Nhi shared.

Diep Nhi showed musical talent early. When she was 2 or 3 years old, she showed interest and could sing along fluently to children's songs that were played on TV or on music CDs that her parents bought.

However, due to the family's circumstances in a mountainous commune, there were no professional cultural and artistic centers for the child to regularly come into contact with music, so at first the family did not pay much attention.

The opportunity to "touch" the stage for the little girl only came when in 2014, the Do Re Mi program of VTV3 - Vietnam Television selected young contestants. Hearing the news, many "fans" of her singing voice who were neighbors of the family encouraged and urged Diep Nhi to apply. That year, she competed and stopped in the top 40 contestants in the Hanoi area. In 2015, Diep Nhi shone again on the Do Re Mi stage and entered the top 6 excellent contestants, winning the Contestant with the best performance style award.

This year, the child star from Nghe An continues to affirm her style and voice at the Vietnam Idol Kids competition. Behind the curtain, few people know that, to reach the music competitions, mother and daughter Diep Nhi had to go through many difficulties.

Diep Nhi's father works in the military and is often away from home, while her mother is a housewife and takes care of the family. Nguyen Thi Hue, Diep Nhi's mother, admits, "I'm quite backward, I don't know how to use a smartphone, air conditioner, elevator or other modern technological devices. My family's conditions are not very good. Therefore, taking my child to the exam leads to many funny and sad situations."

From taking the elevator, having to wait for someone to go with her to press the elevator button; to staying at a 5-star hotel and having to ask the receptionist to borrow a fan without knowing how to use the air conditioner… Loving her child, wanting her child to be able to fulfill her dream of singing and have meaningful childhood memories, she overcame all the strange things in such a strange big city.

In recent episodes of Vietnam Idol Kids, many viewers noticed that Diep Nhi's mother was limping on crutches. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue unfortunately had a traffic accident, exactly 1 day after taking Diep Nhi to the qualifying round of Vietnam Idol Kids in Hanoi.

The accident broke her leg and she was taken to the emergency room at Hospital 103 (Hanoi). The most urgent moment coincided with the time when Diep Nhi had to participate in the next round of the competition to conquer the golden ticket. “The day Nhi won the golden ticket to the next round, her father took her to the hospital to visit her mother. Seeing her mother's painful leg, Nhi burst into tears, everyone in the hospital room felt sorry for her…” – Ms. Hue recalled. The most precious thing is that besides the difficulties, Diep Nhi and her mother received a lot of love and encouragement, both material and spiritual, from relatives, friends, neighbors and colleagues. The mother and daughter confided that it was the priceless gift the family received from this competition.

Coming to the national children's music stage, for Diep Nhi and her mother, is not to hope for splendid moments on stage, but simply to go to the end of the path to discover their child's talent, to bring them a meaningful playground, joy and childhood memories.

As for Diep Nhi, she said innocently: “I really like singing. If I win a prize in a competition, I’m happier, but if I don’t win, it’s still fun!”
