A young woman wearing a pink veil performed a ritual and begged for help as she was forced to walk around a fire seven times, according to Hindu ritual. It was Akshaya Tritiya, a two-day ceremony in which six couples were married. There was a five-year-old bride in a red wedding dress who burst into tears as she performed the ritual with her 11-year-old groom.

The illegal wedding has outraged child rights groups. The legal age of marriage in India is 18 for women, and 21 for men.

"My heart wanted to jump out of my chest when I saw those children caught up in this tragedy,"Kriti Bharti, a child rights activist and founder of the charity Saarthi Trust, said.

"The police must act immediately. It is clear from the video that a clergyman was involved. The adults involved must also be held accountable, including the children's families, the festival decorators, the waiters, friends and relatives."

So far, Kriti has cancelled 29 child weddings in Rajasthan, preventing 850 from taking place.
