17 year old girl committed suicide by eating poison ivy 4 days after getting married
(Baonghean.vn) - Leaving a suicide note stating that her marriage was not as she wished, and now she cannot divorce her husband, so she does not want to live anymore, a 17-year-old Mong girl in Ky Son district, Nghe An ate poison leaves and committed suicide.
According to information from relatives of Mr. Tho Va Menh residing in Tham Hin village (Nam Can commune - Ky Son), Mr. Va Menh's daughter-in-law, Xong Y P. (17 years old), passed away at 1:00 p.m. yesterday (February 28). The cause was determined to be suicide by eating poison ivy.

The family also added that Xong Y P., who lives in Huoi Khe village (Muong Ai commune - Ky Son), had been married to Tho Ba Nhenh for just 4 days. On February 27, Nhenh took his wife to visit his parents-in-law according to custom. However, at noon on February 28, while going out to get food for the livestock, Xong Y P. ate poison leaves and committed suicide. He passed away at around 1 p.m. the same day.

According to the family of Mr. Xong Tong Xo (Xong Y P.'s father), before passing away, Xong Y P. left a suicide note. The letter said that her marriage was not as she wished, and now she could not divorce him, so she did not want to live anymore.
Xong Y P.'s body was then taken to her husband's house in Tham Hin village (Nam Can commune) for burial according to local customs.
