A 17-year-old girl committed suicide by eating poisonous leaves just four days after her wedding.
(Baonghean.vn) - Leaving a suicide note stating that her marriage was not as she had hoped, and now she couldn't leave, so she no longer wanted to live, a 17-year-old Hmong girl in Ky Son district, Nghe An province, committed suicide by eating poisonous leaves.
According to information from relatives of Mr. Tho Va Menh, residing in Tham Hin village (Nam Can commune - Ky Son district), his daughter-in-law, Xong Y P. (17 years old), passed away at 1 PM yesterday (February 28th). The cause of death was determined to be suicide by eating poisonous leaves.

The family also added that Xong Y P., residing in Huoi Khe village (Muong Ai commune - Ky Son district), had married Tho Ba Nenh just four days prior. On February 27th, Nenh took his wife to visit her parents according to custom. However, on the afternoon of February 28th, while going out to get food for the livestock, Xong Y P. committed suicide by eating poisonous leaves. She passed away around 1 PM that same day.

According to the family of Mr. Xong Tong Xo (Xong Y P.'s father), before her death, Xong Y P. left a suicide note. The note essentially stated that her marriage was not as she had hoped, and now she couldn't leave him, so she no longer wished to live.
The body of Xong Y P. was then brought back to her husband's home in Tham Hin village (Nam Can commune) for burial according to local customs.
