A young woman in her 20s from Dien Chau created a fake bank employee persona to swindle billions of dong.
(Baonghean.vn) - On December 16th, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police initiated a case and indicted Cao Thi Thu Ha (born in 1990), residing in Dien Hoa commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province, for the crime of fraud and appropriation of property.
Accordingly, due to business losses, Cao Thi Thu Ha conceived the idea of defrauding victims to repay her debts. The investigation determined that from the beginning of 2022 to the present, Cao Thi Thu Ha committed four fraudulent acts, appropriating over 4.3 billion VND from the victims.

To gain the trust of her victims, Ha claimed to know leaders at the Social Policy Bank of Nghe An province and could help secure jobs for their relatives. Using this cover, Cao Thi Thu Ha defrauded and stole 850 million VND from one victim in Nghia Dan district.
Furthermore, Cao Thi Thu Ha also committed fraud, appropriating property from three victims in Dien Chau and Nghia Dan districts totaling 3.47 billion VND, by defrauding them of cheap cars. Ha used all the stolen money to pay off debts and for personal expenses.
