There are short-lived 'love affairs' of bank CEOs
In recent years, the wave of changes in senior bank personnel has occurred with quite high frequency. People have gradually become accustomed to seeing the boss of bank A suddenly resign and be named at bank B.

And according to a bank CEO, being a big bank boss is also a job, a profession. Like other employees, they also have the mentality of changing jobs whenever they no longer find it suitable. Sometimes, having talent, vision, and a good environment is not enough, to stick with the bank, you also have to rely on fate.
As the bank manager above said, there are many bank bosses who seem to be "unlucky" with the place they go to or the position they sit in, so after a short time, they quietly say goodbye.
NCB Bank is an example. Mr. Dao Trong Khanh took over the position of General Director from December 11, 2015, but after only 9 months, Mr. Khanh suddenly resigned without any clear reason.
Before Mr. Dao Trong Khanh became the director, Ms. Tran Hai Anh held this position from February 2014. After Mr. Khanh became CEO, Ms. Hai Anh became the permanent Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. In December 2016, Ms. Hai Anh became the Chairman replacing Mr. Vu Hong Nam.
Before joining NCB, Mr. Khanh was more familiar with the banking and finance industry as the Permanent Vice President of Maritime Bank since 2012, considered the right-hand man of Chairman Tran Anh Tuan and a member of the steering committee for the merger of MDB into MaritimeBank. Previously, Mr. Khanh worked at prestigious banks in the world such as Citi Group, Caylon Bank, Mizuho Bank and held the position of General Director and Member of the Board of Directors of Tienphongbank (now TPBank).
At Techcombank, Mr. Murat Yuldashev also only held the position of General Director for a short time. Starting to hold the position of CEO from April 18, 2015, in January 2016, Mr. Murat submitted a resignation letter for personal reasons and officially left the bank from the beginning of March 2016. In total, this foreign boss was with Techcombank for only 3 years.
VietABank has also had CEOs who had little luck with banking. In 2012, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hieu was appointed CEO, but after only 8 months, in early August 2012, Mr. Hieu became CEO of ABBank. At that time, he was the youngest CEO in the banking industry. At ABBank, Mr. Hieu sat in the CEO's chair for more than 2 years and then resigned.
Later, Viet A also had a CEO, Mr. Le Xuan Vu, who was in office for only 3 months, from August to November 2016.
Besides the CEOs who are not lucky with the bank they choose, there are CEOs who have been in the CEO position for more than ten years, even more than 20 years. For example, Mr. Le Van Be was the CEO of MB for 15 years (from 1995 to 2009), then his successor, Mr. Le Cong, held the CEO position for 7 years, from 2010 to the beginning of this year.
Or Mr. Nguyen Van Le has been the General Director of Nhon Ai Bank (former name of SHB) since 1999. In 2012, this bank merged with Habubank and Mr. Le continued to be the CEO until now - a total of 18 years.
At Dong A Bank, Mr. Tran Phuong Binh also worked as the bank's General Director for 17 years, from 1988 to 2015. Ms. Tran Thi Viet Anh worked as the General Director of Saigonbank for 13 years, from 2004 until her retirement in mid-June this year.
But the longest-serving bank CEO, a lifelong CEO, cannot be left out without mentioning Ms. Thai Huong, who has been the General Director of Bac A Bank for 23 years, from 1994 to present.
