LPS shares unexpectedly surged to the ceiling price after a series of declining sessions, attracting over 1.1 million units traded.

Opening the trading session on the morning of September 8th, the market continued to fluctuate and show signs of consolidation as the divergence on the electronic board increased. However, the range of change for the VN-Index remained quite narrow, as most blue-chip stocks did not experience significant price changes.

Liquidity also showed signs of decline, while capital flows were not clearly concentrated in any particular sector. Most stocks on the market traded rather sluggishly, lacking significant highlights strong enough to drive the index.

Among individual stocks, LPS attracted attention by surging to its ceiling price of 24,550 VND/share after a series of consecutive declines recently. The trading volume for this stock reached over 1.1 million units.

Meanwhile, VIX continued to lead in liquidity with over 14 million units traded, far surpassing the rest of the market.

The real estate sector was in the red, with VIC (-0.94%), VPI (-2.64%), VRE (-2.22%), VHM (-0.94%), NVL (-0.77%), and DIG (-1.44%). The food and beverage sector was also in the red, with MSN (-0.44%), PAN (-1.86%), BAF (-0.78%), SBT (-0.87%), and NAF (-0.72%).

Positive sentiment spread across the financial services sector, with VIX (+2.57%), SSI (+1.68%), VCI (+1.39%), LPS (+6.97%), SHS (+1.33%), VCK (+1.53%), and HCM (+1.14%). In the banking sector, TCB (+0.47%), VCB (+0.17%), CTG (+0.16%), and TPB (+0.34%) also saw gains.

At the close of trading, the VN-Index fell 4.64 points to 1,817 points (-0.25%) compared to the previous session. Meanwhile, the HNX-Index rose 281.17 points (+0.2%), equivalent to 0.57 points, and the UPCoM-Index increased 127.77 points (+0.1%), equivalent to 0.13 points.

Market liquidity reached VND 5,911.06 billion, with 251 million shares traded. Across the sector, 131 stocks increased, 145 decreased, and 75 fell to the reference price.

According to experts at Kirin Securities, selling pressure completely dominated the first trading day of the new week, causing the VN-Index to experience a significant decline. Liquidity was similar to the end of last week, but the number of declining stocks and sectors was overwhelmingly higher.

The decline in the price has resulted in a reversal candlestick pattern, indicating that the previous uptrend has stalled and a further correction is likely in the coming sessions.

The expectation is that the VN-Index will retest the support zone of 1,770-1,780 points before consolidating and forming a positive trend.

Therefore, investors continue to maintain a cautious stance, not rushing to enter new buying positions. Additional buying opportunities could be found in profitable stocks within the portfolio when the VN-Index falls to support levels.
