NKG shares unexpectedly attract investment.
NKG became a bright spot on the HOSE exchange, rising nearly 4%, with trading volume among the highest in the market.
Opening the trading session on the morning of October 27th, the stock market continued its sluggish performance with low liquidity, strong divergence in capital flows across sectors, and a lack of outstanding stocks attracting significant demand.
The VN-Index continued to fluctuate around the reference level within a narrow range, reflecting the cautious sentiment of investors, as large-cap stocks have yet to create momentum to lead the market.
Amidst a subdued market, NKG stands out as a bright spot, maintaining a gain of nearly 4% and recording one of the highest trading volumes on the HOSE exchange. This upward trend extends the stock's positive performance after its share price hit a more than three-year low of around 9,000 VND per share in early October.
Over the past two trading weeks, NKG has also been among the stocks with positive price increases on the HOSE exchange, before entering the final week of the month.
Several other stocks such as DPG, HVN, DGC, and PET also recorded increases of around 2-3%. However, liquidity in these stocks was not particularly outstanding, indicating that capital flows have not yet spread significantly across the market.
Conversely, KOS continued to face strong selling pressure, falling to its lower limit of 4,380 VND per share. Although the trading volume increased to over 700,000 units, the remaining sell orders at the floor price still exceeded 78 million units, indicating that bottom-buying demand was not strong enough to absorb the overwhelming selling pressure.
The banking sector was dominated by red, with TCB (-1.04%), TPB (-0.39%), VPB (-2.33%), HDB (-2.03%), SHB (-0.47%), and STB (-0.15%). Similarly, the securities sector saw declines of VIX (-0.8%), ORS (-1.29%), VND (-0.74%), TCX (-0.86%), LPS (-5.14%), and VCK (-0.72%).
The real estate sector showed divergence, with VIC (+1.39%), VHM (-0.31%), VPI (-0.18%), NVL (-1.42%), PDR (-1.28%), and VRE (+0.41%). The retail sector also saw divergence, with MWG (+0.94%), PET (+1.45%), FRT (+0.07%), and DGW (-0.22%).
At the close of trading, the VN-Index fell 0.2 points to 1,763.35 points (-0.01%) compared to the previous session. Meanwhile, the HNX-Index rose 259.9 points (+0.22%), equivalent to 0.58 points, and the UPCoM-Index increased 126.35 points (+0.06%), equivalent to 0.07 points.
Market liquidity reached VND 5,180.44 billion, with 233 million shares traded. Across the sector, 109 stocks increased, 190 decreased, and 57 fell to the reference price.

According to experts at Asean Securities Company, the VN-Index is currently fluctuating, with the short-term trend strengthened by remaining above the MA10 and MA20 lines. However, selling pressure dominated in the most recent session, pushing the index to close at its lowest point of the day, reflecting the continued risk of retesting nearby support levels.
With technical indicators like RSI at a neutral level and MFI showing signs of weakening money flow, the market is likely to continue fluctuating within a narrow range at the beginning of the next session before establishing a clearer trend.
In this context, short-term investors should maintain an average portfolio weighting, avoid chasing rallies, and focus on trading within the support zone of 1,760 - 1,770 points and the resistance zone of 1,780 - 1,790 points. They should also prioritize stocks with unique stories, such as state divestment, market upgrade roadmaps, economic development resolutions, or the oil and gas industry cycle.
