PNJ shares continued to hit the ceiling price for the second consecutive session, recovering approximately 40% from their low point recorded more than three weeks ago.

Opening the trading session on the morning of August 24th, the market continued its upward momentum, pushing the VN-Index close to the strong resistance level of 1,800 points at one point. Strong buying pressure helped the index maintain its upward trend, with most stock groups performing well.

After more than an hour of trading, the VN-Index rose to around 1,790 points. Market breadth clearly favored gains, with the number of rising stocks approximately 2.5 times the number of falling stocks. Most sectors recorded positive performance, with only a few individual groups experiencing slight corrections.

PNJ continues to be a focal point on the stock market. After being continuously bought by foreign funds and becoming a major shareholder, the stock has maintained strong upward momentum in recent sessions.

In this morning's trading session, PNJ continued to surge to its ceiling price of 42,650 VND/share, with nearly 500,000 units traded and a buy order surplus at the ceiling price exceeding 11 million shares, indicating that demand remains high.

Positive sentiment spread across the real estate sector, with VIC (+3.9%), VHM (+1.39%), VRE (+0.4%), NVL (+1.5%), DXG (+1.3%), TCH (+3.23%), and DIG (+0.45%). Similarly, the oil and gas sector saw gains in PLX (+1.98%), PVD (+4.3%), PVS (+2.43%), OIL (+2.96%), and BSR (+2.61%).

The financial services sector showed mixed performance, with VIX (+3.33%), SSI (+1.93%), VCI (+1.13%), HCM (+1.52%), SHS (-0.63%), ORS (-1.03%), and MBS (-0.5%). Similarly, the banking sector saw mixed results, with HDB (+1.65%), VPB (+1.56%), VCB (+1.18%), TCB (+0.16%), LPB (-0.6%), and ACB (-0.88%).

At the close of trading, the VN-Index rose 20.63 points to 1,788.75 points (+1.17%) compared to the previous session. Similarly, the UPCoM-Index increased by 127.68 points (+0.13%), equivalent to 0.16 points, and the HNX-Index increased by 284.25 points (+0.06%), equivalent to 0.18 points.

According to experts at Asean Securities Company, the VN-Index is consolidating its short-term trend, closing at 1,768 points, maintaining its position above the MA10 and MA20 lines with buying pressure dominating during the session.

With the RSI at 52 and the MFI slightly improving to 58, the base scenario for the next session is that the VN-Index will maintain its positive upward momentum and continue heading towards the target zone of 1,780 points.

In this context, short-term investors should maintain an average portfolio allocation, avoid chasing prices, and focus on trading within the support zone of 1,760-1,770 points, while prioritizing sectors with unique stories such as state divestment, market upgrade, and private sector development.

Simultaneously, medium- and long-term investors can take advantage of corrections to support levels to gradually disburse funds into fundamentally sound and highly liquid stocks in the banking, securities, retail, public investment, and oil and gas sectors.

According to experts at AIS Securities Company, on the weekly chart, the VN-Index recorded a strong recovery, successfully regaining the important support level of the 50-week moving average.

Positive cash flow is spreading across most sectors, especially securities, banking, and real estate. This upward trend and recovery are expected to continue in the coming trading sessions, with the next target for the VN-Index being the resistance zone of 1,780-1,800 points.
