TCB shares led in trading volume on the morning of August 27th.
The VN-Index briefly rose nearly 20 points thanks to gains from Vingroup and TCB stocks, but quickly cooled down as profit-taking pressure increased ahead of the holiday.
Opening the trading session on the morning of August 27th, the market continued to maintain its positive momentum, helping the VN-Index to rise by nearly 20 points at one point. The main driving force came from large-cap stocks belonging to Vingroup and the breakthrough of TCB.
However, cautious sentiment as the holidays approach is quickly increasing pressure to take profits.
After more than an hour of trading, the VN-Index narrowed most of its gains and hovered around the reference level. Red gradually dominated the electronic board, while liquidity decreased significantly compared to the last four trading sessions, indicating that investors were more cautious.
Against this backdrop, TCB remained the focal point, leading the market in liquidity with over 17.2 million units traded.
In the banking sector, TCB (+1.2%), VPB (+0.75%), VCB (+0.17%), CTG (+0.16%), STB (+1.07%), ACB (+1.3%), HDB (-0.18%), MSB (-0.33%), and MBB (-0.48%) saw gains. In the real estate sector, VIC (+0.39%), VHM (+0.54%), VRE (+1.76%), VPI (+0.88%), NVL (-0.38%), PDR (-0.79%), and TCH (-1.48%) saw gains.
The financial services group saw declines in VIX (-0.35%), SSI (-0.69%), VCI (+0.67%), VND (-0.3%), TCX (-1.2%), and VPX (+1.18%). The oil and gas group was also in the red, with PLX (-1.87%), BSR (-1.12%), PVS (-0.76%), PVD (-1.02%), and OIL (-0.73%).
At the close of trading, the VN-Index rose 1.34 points to 1,822.66 points (+0.07%) compared to the previous session. Similarly, the HNX-Index increased by 282.15 points (+0.07%), equivalent to 0.19 points, and the UPCoM-Index increased by 127.41 points (+0.41%), equivalent to 0.52 points.
Market liquidity reached VND 6,850.86 billion, with 251 million shares traded. Across the sector, 98 stocks rose, 165 fell, and 73 dropped to their reference price.

According to experts from Asean Securities Company, the VN-Index is convincingly consolidating its short-term upward trend by closing at 1,821 points, establishing a solid position on the MA10 and MA20 lines with the consensus from momentum indicators RSI (63) and money flow MFI (66).
With yesterday's closing price close to the day's high and buying pressure prevailing, the index is likely to continue its upward trend to test the 1,840-1,850 point resistance zone in today's session.
Given the scenario of a market maintaining positive momentum, short-term investors should prioritize buying during corrections rather than chasing prices.
At the same time, proactively take partial profits at resistance levels and only increase positions when there is a breakout signal accompanied by confirmed liquidity.
According to experts at AIS Securities Company, after a period of consolidation and recovery efforts, the VN-Index recorded a strong breakout at the end of yesterday's session, surpassing important resistance levels and closing at 1,821.32 points.
The next target for the VN-Index will be to retest the 1,830-1,840 point range.
Investors should take advantage of the market's recovery, prioritizing a holding strategy for stocks attracting capital inflows and selling off those that are weakening in price.
