The VN-Index maintained its positive momentum during the morning session on September 9th, but liquidity remained low, with capital flowing into VIX, SHB, HPG, and VHM.

Yesterday, the VN-Index recovered 8.8 points, reaching 1,830.44 points. However, declining liquidity and the fact that the upward momentum still heavily depended on VIC indicate that market sentiment remains quite cautious.

Opening the trading session on the morning of September 9th, the VN-Index continued to maintain its positive momentum, although market breadth was fairly balanced between gainers and losers.

The index's upward momentum was primarily supported by a number of large-cap stocks, notably the Vingroup group and leading stocks such as VCB and TCB in the banking sector, GAS and BSR in the oil and gas sector, and VNM.

Cash flow remains primarily concentrated in a few familiar stocks such as VIX, SHB, HPG, and VHM, while not showing a clear spread to other sectors.

In the real estate sector, VHM (+1.09%), VIC (+1.72%), VRE (+2.86%), VPI (-0.34%), and NVL (-1.16%) saw gains. In the banking sector, SHB (-0.42%), VCB (+0.52%), VCB (+0.52%), VPB (+0.36%), and CTH (+0.16%) saw gains.

Financial services group: VIX (+0.36%), ORS (+0.36%), SSI (+0.24%), VND (+0.31%), HCM (+0.19%) and TCX (+0.13%). Oil and gas group: BSR (+1.11%), PLX (+1.54%), PVS (+0.51%), OIL (+2.21%), PVD (+1.34%) and PVC (+0.82%).

At the close of trading, the VN-Index rose 5.15 points to 1,835.59 points (+0.28%) compared to the previous session. Similarly, the UPCoM-Index increased by 127.93 points (+0.22%), equivalent to 0.28 points. Meanwhile, the HNX-Index decreased by 279.11 points (-0.71%), equivalent to 2 points.

Market liquidity reached VND 6,338.47 billion, with 244 million shares traded. Across the sector, 114 stocks rose, 166 fell, and 72 dropped to their reference price.

According to experts at AIS Securities Company, after the previous sharp decline, the VN-Index recorded a slight recovery, but liquidity remained quite low. The main support came from the energy and basic materials sectors. Conversely, downward pressure was concentrated in the real estate sector.

With continued net selling pressure from foreign investors, no improvement in liquidity, and cautious domestic capital flows, the risk of a correction to around the 1,780-1,790 support level is entirely possible.

Investors should proactively review their portfolios, prioritizing holding strategies for stocks that maintain an accumulation or upward trend, while selling off stocks that are weakening in price.

According to experts at Tien Phong Securities Company, investors maintain a positive view on the VN-Index's medium-term prospects, but do not recommend increasing positions or making new purchases at the present time.

Simultaneously, we will wait for the support verification process and confirmation of technical signals to complete in the next 1-2 trading sessions before making any new investment decisions.
