A group of Ukrainian Defense Ministry commandos and terrorists preparing for attacks on military facilities in Crimea were captured in Sevastopol, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced.

"In the city of Sevastopol on November 9th, the FSB arrested members of a terrorist commando group belonging to the Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense who were plotting to carry out acts of sabotage against military targets and infrastructure essential for life on the Crimean Peninsula," the statement said.

The FSB said it seized from the arrested individuals high-powered explosive devices, weapons and ammunition, specialized communication equipment, as well as maps outlining sabotage targets. Detention procedures are being decided.

The FSB continues its operational measures to track down and investigate suspects. In August of this year, the FSB also announced the successful prevention of several terrorist attacks in Crimea, which were prepared by the Intelligence Service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
