Press agencies must strictly control comments on Facebook Fanpages.
The Ministry of Information and Communications requires press agencies not to let bad elements take advantage of commenting, spreading propaganda, and causing bad public opinion on their Fanpages.
In Official Dispatch No. 779 signed by Director of the Press Department Luu Dinh Phuc on July 1 regarding strengthening the management of information content on Facebook Fanpage, it is stated that recently, many domestic press agencies have opened Fanpages (forums on the social network Facebook) to post articles from electronic newspapers.

Through monitoring and handling, the Press Department found that some press agencies opened Facebook Fanpages but did not have a strict mechanism to censor comments. Therefore, some subjects took advantage of propaganda, distorted the Party's policies, the State's laws, defamed the reputation and honor of high-ranking leaders, and caused bad public opinion on the internet.
Therefore, the Press Department requires press agencies to review the activities of providing the above content, not allowing bad elements to take advantage of commenting, spreading propaganda, and causing bad public opinion.
In addition, it is necessary to enhance the responsibility of the heads of press agencies and individuals assigned to directly manage and operate Fanpages. Implement requirements to ensure information security and safety, strictly manage content, strictly comply with the provisions of Decree No. 72/2013/ND-CP on management, provision and use of internet services and information on the network; Circular No. 09/2014/TT-BTTTT detailing the management, provision and use of information on electronic information pages and social networks and other provisions of law.
The Press Department also said that in the coming time, the functional agencies of the Ministry of Information and Communications will strengthen inspection and strictly handle cases of providing violating content on the internet environment./.
