Deputy Inspector General of the Government Ngo Van Khanh informed that, depending on the situation and assigned tasks, and based on specific requirements, inspections may be conducted at the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
On the morning of October 27th, the Government Inspectorate held a press conference to announce the results of its inspection work in the third quarter and its work plan for the fourth quarter of 2016.
Responding to the violations at the Ministry of Industry and Trade concluded by the Central Inspection Committee, Deputy Chief Inspector of the Government Ngo Van Khanh acknowledged that this is one of the cases currently attracting public attention, including the appointment of officials at the Ministry of Industry and Trade during the time Mr. Vu Huy Hoang was minister.

"The Government Inspectorate doesn't just work with this or that ministry. It's not just about what happens in the ministries; the Government Inspectorate itself must also review, inspect, and evaluate these matters," Mr. Khanh said.
Regarding the inspection of Vietnam Petroleum Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC), where Mr. Trinh Xuan Thanh once served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Ngo Van Khanh stated that the inspection is currently underway, with personnel mobilized from various units.
"This inspection is being conducted after the case has been initiated, so there are inspection and investigation forces involved. We are coordinating closely to minimize disruption to the operations of member units. Currently, there are no results; the figures for losses of several thousand billion dong must await the conclusions of each individual item and each matter," the Deputy Chief Inspector of the Government emphasized.
In the third quarter, the inspection sector conducted nearly 77,000 administrative and specialized inspections. Inspection agencies discovered violations totaling over 42.6 trillion VND and recommended the recovery of nearly 34 billion VND.
The inspectors recommended administrative sanctions against 436 organizations and individuals, and referred 16 cases involving 30 individuals to the investigative agency for further clarification.
Regarding the handling of accountability for leaders who allowed corruption to occur, three leaders were found to be negligent in allowing corruption to happen, and one has been disciplined.
Through inspections and the handling of complaints and denunciations, the inspection sector discovered 14 cases involving 24 individuals with acts of corruption and related to corruption. Investigating agencies have handled 159 cases involving 415 individuals with acts of corruption and related to corruption.
