The South Korean president's secret advisor declared he "deserves to die."
Choi Soon Sil, the woman at the center of the scandal involving the South Korean president, recently said that she "committed a crime worthy of death."
"Please forgive me. I'm sorry. I committed a crime punishable by death," Choi told reporters on her way to meet with prosecutors on October 31.
Choi Soon Sil returned from Germany on the morning of October 30th. According to Yonhap, the longtime friend of the South Korean president had to navigate through a large crowd of media, protesters, and security forces surrounding the entrance to the Seoul prosecutor's office.

Earlier, on October 25, the South Korean president admitted to transferring numerous classified documents to her longtime friend Choi Sun Sil for policy advice and to have her participate in editing some of her speeches. The scandal rocked the entire country and caused President Park Geun Hye's popularity to plummet to a record low.
South Korean prosecutors are conducting an investigation to determine whether Choi exploited her close relationship with President Park for personal gain.
Media reports suggest that although Choi did not hold an official position in President Park Geun Hye's cabinet, she played a significant role in many government matters.
