Con Cuong supports the construction of 4 new "Houses of Love and Compassion".

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 8th, the Women's Union of Con Cuong district organized a ceremony to present a "House of Love" to Ms. Luong Thi Nghi, a poor female member of the Women's Union branch in Ban Xieng, Don Phuc commune.

Ms. Nghi comes from a difficult family background; her husband is frequently ill, and one of her children suffers from the effects of Agent Orange.

The single-story house cost nearly 60 million VND to build, of which the Women's Union of the district contributed 20 million VND, drawn from the district's "Shelter of Love" fund; relatives and women in the village donated materials and labor.

The Con Cuong Women's Union presented a "House of Love" to Ms. Luong Thi Nghi (Xieng Village, Don Phuc Commune).

The support in building the "House of Love" encourages Ms. Nghi to overcome her circumstances, work and produce with peace of mind, and stabilize her life. It also demonstrates the tradition of solidarity, mutual support, and compassion among women in the district towards poor women and children.

In 2015 alone, women's association members in Con Cuong district contributed 40 million VND to the "Shelter of Love" fund, and the Nghe An Lottery Company donated 40 million VND, thereby supporting the construction of 4 "Shelter of Love" houses for poor members.
