The street, lined with hundreds of bougainvillea pots, is one of the cleanest in Vinh City.
(Baonghean.vn) - With the contributions of war veterans and women's associations, a street lined with hundreds of bougainvillea pots has been created in Phuong Hoang block, Trung Do ward, Vinh City. Moreover, this street is always clean and free of litter.
The approximately 300-meter-long Old Railway Street in Phuong Hoang neighborhood, Trung Do ward (Vinh City), used to be littered with messy and indiscriminate garbage dumps, causing not only environmental pollution but also detracting from the urban aesthetics and affecting the appearance of the neighborhood. Therefore, when Phuong Hoang neighborhood intensified its efforts to build a clean and green environment, this street was chosen as a model road.

However, transforming it into a flower-lined road is not an easy task; it requires a step-by-step approach. At the end of 2019, the Women's Association and the Veterans' Association of the block visited households along the road to raise awareness about not littering, and about sorting and disposing of waste in designated areas. Following this, through social mobilization, the block invested over 20 million VND to install approximately 100 bougainvillea flower pots, stretching along the entire road.
Each flower pot is spaced an average of 3 meters apart. Every day, members of the Women's Association take turns caring for and watering the plants to keep them healthy and green.

Alongside the construction of the flower-lined street, the neighborhood also mobilized everyone to intensify daily cleaning efforts. Every weekend, the neighborhood organized a "Green Sunday" event where all 300 households in the neighborhood had to sweep, plant trees, and beautify the streets... And remarkably, everyone participated enthusiastically and actively.

It is known that in the near future, the Phoenix Group will continue to build the Tran Canh Binh flower road, running around Quyet Mountain, promising to create a beautiful and refreshing destination for the people of Vinh City.
For Phuong Hoang Street, the main road of the block and Trung Do ward, it is planned to install mobile trash bins using socialized funding to prevent people from littering and polluting the environment.
