After that, with his contributions to the company, he was promoted to a supervisory position and gradually to a manager position. Finally, Hoang Kieu was promoted to director in charge of testing plasma samples. At the same time, he was certified by the US Food and Drug Administration for his standard plasma laboratory. That was a solid stepping stone for him to step into hepatitis B research.
With the motto "Don't sell your knowledge for cheap", Hoang Kieu decided to establish his own company specializing in plasma research called Rare Antibody Antigen Supply (RAAS). After that, Hoang Kieu bought many other centers and by 1985, he owned 11 famous plasma centers across the United States.
With the desire to develop further globally, Hoang Kieu chose the Chinese market that few American businesses thought of at a very precise time. That was the time when hepatitis B broke out in China, causing 300,000 people to get sick.
Seizing the opportunity, Mr. Hoang Kieu and the Shanghai Hematology Center opened the Shanghai RAAS company to provide a drug containing the main substances that make up plasma called AlbuRAAS along with other plasma-based drugs. Thanks to this drug, hepatitis B has been pushed back. Today, the demand for this product in China is increasing, and even Shanghai RAAS cannot produce enough to serve a province in China.
That is the market in China, and in the US, Hoang Kieu continues to expand into the wine production field. In November 2014, Hoang Kieu inaugurated the Michael Mondavi Family wine company and invited Li Bing Bing to be its representative face.
With those successes, billionaire Hoang Kieu currently holds a huge fortune of more than 3.8 billion USD and ranks 149th in the 400 richest billionaires in the world.
