Daughter plots to extort 5 billion VND from her own father.
Ngo Thi Bich Tram (born in 1991) and her accomplices staged a debt claim, claiming they were arrested and beaten, and demanded that her father help them pay off a debt of 5 billion VND.
On October 18th, the Criminal Police Department of Dong Thap Provincial Police announced that the investigating agency had initiated criminal proceedings and temporarily detained Ngo Thi Bich Tram (born in 1991, residing in Dong Thap province), Tran Minh Trung (born in 1997, residing in Hau Giang province), and Nguyen Van Nha (born in 1992, residing in Ca Mau province) for investigation into the crime of extortion.
According to the investigation results, Tram and her accomplices had previously staged a debt claim and a kidnapping and beating to extort money. The suspects intimidated Mr. NVH (Tram's father, born in 1964) to demand payment of the 5 billion VND that Tram owed.
The investigation revealed that Tram did not owe any money and, along with Trung and Nha, conspired to steal money from her own father.
Using the same method, Tram and her accomplices previously embezzled 495 million VND from Mr. H., which they then divided among themselves for personal use.
