Drug addicts break into people's homes to steal property.
After 10 hours of investigation, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police clarified the case and arrested the perpetrator who broke into and stole 5 taels of 9999 gold along with some other assets from a household in Hoa Cuong ward, recovering most of the stolen property.
On May 15th, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police arrested Nguyen Quang Luc (born in 1990, residing in Group 61, Hoa Khanh Ward) for investigation into the theft of property. Luc is a repeat offender with a criminal record for robbery and theft, and is currently under post-rehabilitation management by Hoa Khanh Ward Police. He is also wanted by the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Da Nang City Police for his involvement in the illegal use of narcotics.

According to initial information, on the afternoon of May 14th, the Hoa Cuong Ward Police (Da Nang City) received a report from Ms. NTHT about a burglary at her home where a large amount of property was stolen.
Ms. T stated that she had locked her house and gone away for work for several days. On May 14th, she returned home to find her wardrobe in the bedroom had been broken into. Approximately 850 million VND worth of assets, including 5 taels of 9999 gold, some gold jewelry, and cash, had been stolen.
Recognizing this as a theft of exceptionally high-value property and involving a professional perpetrator, the Hoa Cuong Ward Police reported the case to the Criminal Investigation Department for coordinated investigation.
Immediately after receiving the information, the leaders of the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police quickly assigned a task force consisting of many experienced detectives and investigators to coordinate with Hoa Cuong Ward Police to conduct a scene investigation, simultaneously deploying various professional measures, focusing on immediate pursuit; at the same time, reviewing all criminal suspects, professional thieves, and those with previous convictions in the area to focus on combating and clarifying the perpetrator.
Through investigative measures, after more than 10 hours of searching since receiving information about the incident, at approximately 00:30 on May 15th, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police identified Nguyen Quang Luc as the perpetrator and quickly arrested him, bringing him to the station for questioning. A rapid drug test revealed that the suspect tested positive for narcotics...
At the police station, Nguyen Quang Luc confessed that because he had no money for expenses and to buy drugs for personal use, he decided to steal property. In the early morning of May 14th, Luc walked through the alleys and streets in Hoa Cuong ward to carry out his plan and discovered that Ms. T's house was unoccupied. Taking advantage of this opportunity, he broke in, pried open a wardrobe, and stole all the gold and cash. Around 10 a.m. that same day, he hired a vehicle to go to Hoi An ward to sell some of the stolen gold to pay off debts and for personal expenses.
During the search, the Criminal Police recovered some of the stolen property, including 8 gold rings of various types, 2 gold necklaces, and 1 gold bracelet, with a total value of nearly 600 million VND. The case is still under investigation and processing.
