(Baonghean.vn) - With 29.25 points in Block A of the National High School Graduation Examination, Bui Van Bao - a 12th-grade student from Do Luong 1 High School - is leading the list of candidates admitted to the Logistics Academy in 2017.

Since learning the exam results, especially when the Logistics Academy announced the list of successful candidates, Bao's mother's house next to Luong Market (Hamlet 6, Dong Son Commune, Do Luong District) seemed livelier, with many relatives, friends, and neighbors coming to congratulate them.

Bao is a special student at Do Luong 1 High School. His father was a war hero who died while protecting the forest, and his mother is a retired elementary school teacher. When his father died, his mother fell ill from grief. Then, in the 8th grade, she was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo surgery. To this day, she still has to travel to Hanoi once every three months for treatment.

Despite his family circumstances, Bao always strived to excel in his studies. In third grade, he moved many people with his poem "Dad!" published on the website of the Vietnam Forestry Department, with lines such as:"Before my father's spirit, I vow to study hard to achieve success, to follow in my father's footsteps in protecting the green forests, so that the mountains and forests will remain green forever."

From elementary school to high school, Bao has achieved many admirable accomplishments: Second prize in the provincial online math competition (grade 5), excellent student at the district level (grades 6, 7, 8), Second prize in the provincial online English competition (grade 8), Encouragement prize, Second prize in the Hanoi Open Math Olympiad (grades 8, 10), Second prize in the provincial excellent student competition in Mathematics (grades 9, 11).

In particular, during her 12th grade year, she consistently topped the school in mock exams, achieving a score of 29.25 in the National High School Graduation Exam (Mathematics: 10, Physics: 9.5, Chemistry: 9.75). Bao wasn't entirely satisfied with this score, however, because "I was overconfident and made mistakes on some easy questions." For Bao, to achieve high results in her studies and exams, besides paying close attention to the teacher's lectures in class, she needed to study the textbooks thoroughly at home, allocate study time wisely, and prioritize the subjects she was weakest in...

Bao's childhood dream was to become a police officer, but in the middle of his senior year of high school, the Ministry of Public Security changed the entrance exam subjects, forcing Bao to choose a different school. Although many relatives tried to persuade him to apply to the Polytechnic University, believing that "technology engineers will have a bright future," Bao insisted on applying to the Logistics Academy. "If I can't get into a police academy, I'll go to a military academy. I like schools belonging to the armed forces," Bao shared.

Based on the recently announced list of successful candidates from the Logistics Academy, with a score of 29.25 (excluding 3 priority points), Bao has become the top-scoring student. Bao's dream of studying at a military school has come true. It is known that in the 2017 admissions season, more than 2,000 applications were submitted to the Logistics Academy with a cutoff score of 26.25, and 484 candidates were admitted.

Bao is 1.78m tall, weighs 82kg, is a huge football fan, and a passionate Real Madrid supporter. During the recent exam season, despite being busy with studies, he still managed to play football every afternoon, and stayed up to watch Real Madrid matches every night.

Bao said: "Besides studying, football is my second passion. It helps me relax after stressful study hours and improves my physical fitness so I can study better."

Speaking about her son, Mrs. Tran Thi Hai - Bao's mother - couldn't hide her pride: "Bao is a good son, and he developed independence early. The family is very happy with the results he achieved in the recent exam, especially being the top scorer at the Logistics Academy. However, that's only the first step; there are many challenges ahead that he needs to overcome with even more effort."

Mr. Nguyen Cong Son - Homeroom teacher of class 12 T1, commented: "Bao is an exemplary class leader, enthusiastic about collective activities. He has had the honor of joining the Party. With his intelligence and ambition, I hope Bao will achieve many more accomplishments in his studies."
