Police warn of child abduction cases in Nghe An.
(Baonghean.vn) - On April 15th, a child abduction occurred in Tuong Duong district, but the family discovered it. Currently, one child is still missing.
Mr. Kha Van Hoi, Deputy Head of the Tuong Duong District Police, said that the unit has just sent a notice to the police departments of communes and towns warning of the appearance of child abduction crimes in the area.
On April 15th, a kidnapping occurred in Hoa Dong Hamlet, Hoa Binh Town. Taking advantage of a 3-year-old child being outside the gate alone, an assailant approached, snatched the child, and ran away. The family discovered the incident and chased after the kidnapper. Realizing they had been caught, the assailant abandoned the child and escaped.

On the same day, in Na Be village, Xa Luong commune, a 5-year-old child went missing. The family and relevant authorities are currently searching for the child and conducting an investigation.
According to the police in Tuong Duong district, the common tactic used by child kidnappers is to go to areas near residential houses to observe and gather information about the children's daily routines or to interact with them; they buy candy and toys. Once they have become acquainted, they take advantage of the family's absence to lure the children away to play and then kidnap them. The police in Tuong Duong district requested that authorities at all levels intensify propaganda efforts to inform the public about this type of crime; regularly broadcast announcements on loudspeakers in communes, villages, and hamlets about the tactics used by child abduction criminals; strengthen management and monitoring of residences, closely track suspicious individuals appearing in the area; conduct administrative inspections of guesthouses and hotels; and strengthen the management of individuals with previous criminal records.
Previously, Dien Tho Commune Kindergarten (Dien Chau District) posted a notice on the bulletin board in front of the school warning parents and teachers to be vigilant and take precautions against child abduction.
