The police in Ky Son district successfully apprehended a fugitive wanted by the police.
The police in Ky Son district have successfully arrested Cut Thi Bong (born in 1995), residing in Luu Thang village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district - a wanted suspect for the crime of trafficking children, according to a decision by the Criminal Enforcement Agency of the Nghe An Provincial Police.
Previously, around July 2016, taking advantage of Xeo Thi U. (born in 2002)'s need for work, Cut Pho Thuan (born in 1986), residing in Ky Son district, and Xeo Van Dau (born in 1994), residing in Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district, conspired to entice U. to go to China to marry. Knowing this, U.'s family disagreed.
About two days later, while U.'s parents were at work, Dau and Thuan came to her house and invited her to work at a company. However, after taking a bus to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh), U. was picked up by Cut Thi Bong's people and smuggled into China via an unofficial border crossing, then sold to a Chinese man to be his wife for over 118 million VND. In 2018, Xeo Thi U. managed to escape back to Vietnam and reported the crime to the police. At the time of her sale, the victim was only 14 years, 5 months, and 28 days old.

In April 2023, the Nghe An Provincial People's Court held a first-instance trial for three defendants, Cut Thi Bong, Cut Pho Thuan, and Xeo Van Dau, on charges of child trafficking. After a comprehensive review of the case and the role of each defendant, the panel of judges sentenced Cut Thi Bong to 10 years and 6 months in prison; and Cut Pho Thuan and Xeo Van Dau each to 10 years in prison. Due to Cut Thi Bong having a young child under 36 months old, her sentence was suspended.
However, taking advantage of this, Cụt Thị Bông fled the area. The Criminal Enforcement Agency of the Nghe An Provincial Police issued a wanted notice for Cụt Thị Bông.
Having previously lived abroad, after escaping, Cụt Thị Bông illegally crossed the border. However, lacking legal documents and fearing inspection by local authorities, Cụt Thị Bông escaped back to Vietnam.
At approximately 5 PM on May 30, 2024, while the suspect was hiding in the Xuan Hoa town area, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province, the Chieu Luu commune police (Ky Son district) successfully apprehended Cut Thi Bong, much to her surprise.
Currently, the Chiêu Lưu Commune Police have handed over the suspect Cụt Thị Bông to the Criminal Enforcement and Judicial Support Police Department of the Provincial Police.
