In the course of the nation's strong development, Nghe An – the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh – is emerging as a dynamic development center in the North Central region. Facing new demands, the Nghe An Provincial Police continue to play a pivotal role as a "steel shield" in maintaining security and order, while also pioneering in social welfare work, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
Innovation and creativity enhance work efficiency.
During the period 2020-2025, the security and order situation in Nghe An province is basically stable, and people's lives are becoming more peaceful. However, many challenges remain, ranging from traditional issues to high-tech and transnational crimes, cybersecurity, drug trafficking, and social vices.
In this situation, the Nghe An Provincial Police demonstrated unwavering political resolve, a high sense of responsibility, flexibility, and creativity in directing, managing, and organizing the implementation of tasks. The police force proactively grasped the situation at the grassroots level, anticipated problems early and from afar, preventing the formation of "hot spots" and complex situations, ensuring security to serve socio-economic development.
The provincial police have effectively advised on and resolved many "bottlenecks" in the implementation of key economic projects, ensuring absolute safety for political events, delegations of Party and State leaders, and international guests visiting and working in the locality.
The fight against crime has achieved many outstanding results: Crimes against social order decreased by 20.86% compared to the previous term; the crime detection rate reached over 90%, with many particularly serious cases being solved. In particular, the Nghe An Provincial Police have aggressively implemented drug prevention and control measures with the goal of "cleaning up the commune-level areas".
Fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue efforts have been prioritized, and many effective models have been replicated. Traffic accidents have decreased in all three criteria: number of incidents, number of deaths, and number of injuries. The effective implementation of Government Decree 06/CP has helped Nghe An repeatedly rank among the top provinces nationwide in digital transformation and administrative reform.
In addition to ensuring security and order, the Nghe An Provincial Police are also pioneers in community-oriented activities. During the period 2020–2025, the force led the "Tet for the Poor" movement, supporting people affected by natural disasters and other charitable programs. Notably, they coordinated the construction of 3,553 houses for the poor and repaired over 12,700 temporary or dilapidated houses, leaving a profound impression on the people.
Currently, the Provincial Police are implementing a 40-day intensive campaign to build houses and schools for ethnic minority communities, further affirming the role of the armed forces in "serving the people".
With outstanding achievements, the Nghe An Provincial Police have received the Prime Minister's Emulation Flag for 10 consecutive years and in 2024 were awarded the prestigious title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" – a well-deserved reward for their unwavering loyalty, dedication, and tireless contributions to the peaceful lives of the people.

Solid security, sustainable development
The 20th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee set the goal that by 2030, the province will become a national-level growth pole and a regional center in the North Central region for industry, high-tech agriculture, education, healthcare, and science and technology. The vision for 2045 is for Nghe An to become a comprehensively developed, modern, high-income province.
In this process, ensuring national defense and security is a crucial foundation. The Congress demanded a thorough understanding of the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations on building a national defense system based on the people's will, with "the people's support" as the foundation. At the same time, it emphasized the close integration of economic, cultural, and social development with ensuring national defense and security and expanding foreign relations.
The Nghe An Public Security Force plays a key role in strategic planning, maintaining political security and social order; protecting national borders and special areas; and effectively combating various types of crime and social evils.
Simultaneously, the focus is on consolidating public support, promoting the nationwide movement to protect national security, improving the quality of intelligence gathering, prevention, and readiness to respond to complex situations. In particular, the Provincial Police are leading the way in digital transformation and applying modern technology to their operational work.
The overarching goal is to build a clean, strong, professional, elite, and modern Nghe An Public Security force, capable of meeting the demands of the new situation.
Comprehensive reform, for the service of the people.
In the spirit of the Resolution of the 20th Congress of the Provincial Party Committee, the Nghe An Provincial Police force clearly identifies the urgent need for comprehensive reform, with the effectiveness of serving the people as the center of all activities. The Provincial Police has developed a specific action program, focusing on key areas, in accordance with the local situation and the new context of security and order.
The security and order situation in the coming period continues to have many complex underlying factors, requiring increasingly higher standards. The Nghe An Provincial Police force has identified its central objective as firmly protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety in all situations; building a truly clean, strong, professional, elite, and modern force.

Proactive prevention and combating of security and order issues will gradually lift Nghe An out of the category of key areas with complex security and order problems, building a disciplined and safe society.
Strengthening the fight against drug-related crimes and social evils, and quickly removing Nghe An from the list of drug hotspots.
By strongly applying science and technology and digital transformation, the goal is to build a modern, professional, and revolutionary Nghe An Provincial Police force by 2030.
Furthermore, the Provincial Police continue to play a pivotal role in community service activities, showing gratitude and appreciation, and widely spreading the spirit of "Serving the People" to every officer and soldier. At the same time, they will improve the quality of emulation movements and resolutely fight against corruption, negative practices, and waste.
