Nghe An Police: Prosecute 3 cases of illegal fireworks, seize nearly 350kg of firecrackers.

During a concentrated campaign to combat and suppress crime, the Economic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police has implemented a comprehensive range of professional measures, continuously detecting, investigating, and clarifying many cases related to firecrackers, contributing to ensuring security and order in the period leading up to the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.

Specifically, on December 24, 2025, in Hung Yen Nam commune (Nghe An province), the Economic Police Department, in coordination with the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), caught Nguyen Thanh Cong (born in 1995), residing in Vinh Phu ward, Nghe An province, red-handed.trafficking in prohibited goodsThe seized items included 153kg of firecrackers and other related evidence.

The investigation determined that, taking advantage of his position as a delivery driver for a courier company operating in Nghe An province, Nguyen Thanh Cong colluded with individuals in various provinces and cities to purchase firecrackers for resale and profit. He often disguised the firecrackers in legitimate packages, declaring them as consumer goods to evade detection by authorities. He was apprehended before he could sell the firecrackers.

Previously, on December 23, 2025, in Trung Loc commune, Nghe An province, the Economic Police Department, in coordination with the Dien Chau Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department), Nghia Lam commune police, and Than Linh commune police, caught Pham Cong Hung (born in 1982), residing in Do Luong commune, and Ho Sy Long (born in 1987), residing in Tam Dong commune, red-handed for trading prohibited goods; seizing 110 kg of firecrackers.

Subsequently, on December 25, 2025, in Luong Son commune, Nghe An province, the Economic Police Department, in coordination with the Luong Son Commune Police, arrested Nguyen Canh Hung (born in 1976), residing in Do Luong commune, for the act of possessing prohibited goods, seizing 73.88 kg of firecrackers.

The police advise citizens to absolutely refrain from producing, trading, storing, transporting, and using illegal firecrackers in any form. Violations not only pose a risk of fire, explosions, and serious accidents, affecting people's lives and property, but also disrupt public order and security, especially before, during, and after the Lunar New Year. Upon discovering any violations related to firecrackers, citizens should promptly notify the nearest police station for coordinated action in accordance with the law.
